The Netherlands Team was held scoreless in the first six innings and was limited to only three baseshits off of three pitchers.

Chris Garia, who made his debut in the national squad, singled in his first at bat in the first inning off of starting pitcher Ruderly Manuel, but was left behind. In the second at bat, Sharlon Schoop led off with a walk, but then Manuel struckout the next three batters.

In the top of the third inning, the Dutch Team got the bases loaded. With two outs and Randolph Oduber on base, the bases got loaded when Andruw Jones and Yurendell DeCaster walked. But the inning then ended when the latter was forced out on a grounder by Sharlon Schoop.

In the fifth, Randolph Oduber led off with a single, but then was eliminated in a double play on first base when next batter Chris Garia lined out.

The Netherlands Team opened the score with two runs in the seventh inning. Gianison Boekhoudt led off with a walk and with two outs, the bases got loaded when Dwayne Kemp and Gilmer Lampe also walked. After a pitching change, the first run was scored when Quintin De Cuba also walked, then the second run was added moments later on a wild pitch.

A 5-run rally followed in the ninth inning. Kevin Moesquit led off with a single, then Dwayne Kemp homered to lift the lead to 4-0. With one out, Quintin De Cuba and Yurendell DeCaster singled, then scored on a 2-out double by Kalian Sams. After a pitching change, Gianison Boekhoudt walked, then Gianfranco Wawoe (another rookie in the Dutch squad) singled in the fifth run in this at bat to increase the score to 7-0.

Veteran Rob Cordemans started for the Netherlands-squad. With two outs, Curaçao-batter Alexander Rodriguez reached on an error, but hereafter the righthander struckout the next four batters.

Diegomar Markwell pitched the third and fourth inning. In the third, he hit lead-off hitter Ramiro Balentina with a pitch. Markwell struckout the next two batters, then gave up a single to Ardley Jansen, but he was forced out. Markwell then retired the side in the fourth inning.
