 UVV records convincing win against DSS

Pickles UVV broke an 1-1 tie in the third inning and went on to record a convincing 10-3 victory on Saturday (August 27) against DSS.
Last Thursday, UVV also won the opener of the 3-game series to secure its big league-spot for next year.
On the other hand, by losing on Thursday, it means that DSS will have to play in a best-of-five Promotion/Relegation Series against the champion of the second highest league ('Overgangsklasse').
On Saturday, Storks, which currently leads in this league, shutout third placed RCH-Pinguïns 3-0.
Orioles, which is in second place, won 5-3 vs. Onze Gezellen.
Storks now leads Orioles by six points and will be the champion when it also wins on Sunday.
In case of a loss, Orioles still can end up in a tie with Storks in first place, but then has to win all remaining three games, while Storks has to lose its games.
RCH-Pinguïns is eliminated for first place, but can still finish (in a tie) in second place.
So, this league can be decided on Sunday or take a week longer.
Then we will know the final ranking and also whether the eligible team(s) want to play in the Promotion/Relegation Series or not.
Leading 2-1, UVV added two runs in the fourth, then added six more runs in the seventh and eighth at bats combined.
With the score at 1-1, DSS stranded three runners in the top of the third, then UVV scored a run in the bottom half on a single by Sergino Martis.
An error led to two unearned runs in the fourth at bat, giving UVV a 4-1 lead.
A double by rookie Tijmen Takke gave UVV two more runs in the seventh, then five hits led to four runs in the eighth to enlarge the lead.
UVV collected 15 basehits, including three by Sergino Martis, while Cecil Comenencia scored three runs.
Melvin Perdue and Mitchel Koot were both productive for DSS, hitting four and three basehits respectively.
