Vaessen Pioniers vs. Pickles UVV
Pioniers started the game well. In the top of the first inning, starter Chris Pfau struckout the first two batters he faced. The lefthander then gave up a single to Tony Enos, but moments later, he picked him off on first base to end the inning.

In the bottom of the first inning, Pioniers rallied for four runs (three unearned), which would be decisive. Zerzinho Croes led off with a single and stole second base with one out, then Max Draijer walked. A following single by Kevin Dirksen then led to the first run. With runners on first and third base, a flyout accounted for the second out. After Dirksen had advanced on a passed ball, a run was scored when next bater Brian Raap reached on a throwing error. Hereafter, Shurman Marlin followed with a 2-run double to make it a 4-0 score.

Only two of the eight runs scored by Pioniers were earned, as the UVV-defense committed four errors.

Pioniers added another unearned run in the second inning. Zerzinho Croes walked with one out, advanced when a pick-off ended in a throwing error, then scored on a single by Mervin Gario.

Pioniers again got into scoring position in the third at bat. Lead-off hitter Kevin Dirksen reached on an error, then moved to third base on a 2-out single by Shurman Marlin. While advancing to third base, Dirksen injured himself and left the game, as he was replaced by pinch-runner Shavently Profar. But two runners were left behind.

Pioniers scored its next run in the fourth inning. Mark Smit then led off with a single and Mervin Gario singled with one out, which led to runners at the corners. A double-steal situation then lifted the lead to 6-0.

Chris Pfau retired the side in the second and third inning. In the fourth, Tony Enos reached base again when he walked with two outs, but this time, he was forced out at second base.

In the fifth, Mike Bazuin led off for UVV with a walk, but was picked off first base. Pfau followed with two strikeouts.

In the top of the sixth inning, UVV scored its lone run, but also stranded three runners. With one out, Dennis Ribbens and Jordan Illis walked, then the bases got loaded when Omar Williams singled. A wild pitch then enabled Ribbens to score and a following walk for Tony Enos re-loaded the bases. Pfau then struckout the next batter and Enos was forced out again moments later to end the inning, meaning UVV left three runners behind. In this at bat, UVV's Head Coach Ferenc Jongejan was ejected for arguing the umpiring decisions.

Pioniers was held scoreless in the fifth, sixth and seventh inning. In the seventh, Pioniers left three runners behind.

The home team added two more unearned runs in the eighth at bat, but then again left the bases loaded. Lead-off hitter Brennan Nijhof reached on an error and later scored on a wild pitch with two outs. Mervin Gario, who had reached on a fielder's choice, scored the next run on a single by Stephen Henson.

In the top of the ninth inning, Sedley Karel closed the game for Pioniers, which also made a defensive change. Rookie Shen Flanegin took over at first base to make his big league-debut. He is the son of Head Coach Dè Flanegin. Karel took over from Maickel Rietel, who had replaced Pfau in the seventh inning. With one out, Karel walked Sergino Martis, then gave up a single to Tim Veraghtert. The game then ended when Norbert Jongerius lined into an unassisted double play to Flanegin.
