  First win of season for Tom de Blok

 KISSIMMEE, Florida (USA) -
Dutch professional pitcher Tom de Blok has been credited with his first win of the season.
On Sunday (August 11), the righthander started and threw six innings for Lakeland Flying Tigers in a 3-1 victory.
With the win, De Blok ended his 'pitching slump, as the 23-year old righthander was 0-10.
Since the start of the season, De Blok pitched in 17 games (16 starts) for the Single-A Advanced Team of Detroit Tigers in the Florida State League.
On Sunday, De Blok made his 17th start and this time, he had a successful outing at Osceola County Stadium.
In his six innings against and at Florida Fire Dogs (Atlanta Braves), De Blok struckout only one batter, but he also gave up only three basehits and walked none.
Lakeland opened the score with two runs in the top of the second inning.
After De Blok had given up a run in the third, his teammates added an insurance run in the fourth.
With a 3-1 lead, De Blok was relieved in the seventh inning by Angel De Jesus.
Billy Lescher closed the game by pitching the ninth inning.
De Jesus and Lescher both didn't gave up a basehit.
So far this season, De Blok stuckout 71 batters in 93 innings, while walking 39 and giving up 84 basehits.
As mentioned, his record is 1-11, while his ERA is 4.16.
For De Blok, the win on Sunday was his tenth in his professional career, which began in 2017.
He was 4-2 pitching for two teams in 2017.
Last year, De Blok was 5-6 when he also pitched for two teams.
