DSS/Kinheim opened the score in the bottom of the first inning off of starter Jan-Willem Geerts, who also was the starter in last Thursday's game against HCAW. The righthander then threw 1 2/3 inning. Today, he pitched four innings, giving up three basehits. Two of these hits were recorded in the first at bat in which DSS/Kinheim failed to score more than one run. Thomas Bos led off with a walk, advanced on a single by Jochem Koedijk and scored on a single by Jason Jakobus. But this would be the lone run for the Haarlem-team. With one out, DSS/Kinheim got the bases loaded when Milan Lammerts reached on an error. However, the three runners were left behind, as a strikeout and pop-fly ended the at bat.

DSS/Kinheim also got scoring opportunities in the next two at bats. With two outs in the second, Thomas Bos walked again, but this time he would strand on second base. With one out in the third, Milan Lammerts reached on a bunt-single. With two outs, he moved to third base when Nick Hofer reached on a throwing error. When Lammerts tried to score this situation, he was eliminated at the plate.

Quick Amersfoort was initially silenced in its first three innings by starter Glenn Wassink, who was supported with two double plays and faced ony nine batters. Quick then came alongside with two outs in the top of the fourth. With one out, Brian Biezen walked, stole second base and advanced on a grounder. After Rachid Engelhardt had also walked, Biezen scored the tying run on a single by Taylor Clemensia, who was 3-for-4.

In the fifth inning, Rick Timmermans took over the pitching for the home-team. He retired the side in the fifth, but then gave up three runs in the sixth. Kaj Berkel, Brandon Rijnbergen and Brian Biezen all singled, which enabled the first to score the go-ahead run. With one out, the other two scored on a single by Rachid Engelhardt.

DSS/Kinheim got a runner into scoring position again in the bottom of the sixth off of rookie Rik Jalvingh, who had entered the game in the previous inning. With two outs, the lefthander gave up a double Mick van Vliet, one of the rookies in the team of DSS/Kinheim. Hereafter, Seb Visser walked, but Jalvingh closed with a strikeout. Visser is one of the players that came to DSS/Kinheim from Onze Gezellen after last season.

In the top of the seventh, Quick Amersfoort took more distance by scoring two unearned runs off of new pitcher Moreno Vork. With one out, Pascal Zegwaard reached on an error, as did Mees Robberse with two outs. On this last error, Zegwaar scored. Moments later, Robberse scored on a double by Kaj Berkel to make it a 6-1 score.

In the top of the eighth, Quick left runners behind on first and second base. Bas Wiers (with one out) and Taylor Clemensia (with two outs) then singled, but a grounder ended the at bat. In the ninth, Quick was retired in order by rookie Rick Rizvic.

DSS/Kinheim got only one baserunner in the seventh and eighth inning off of reliever Jasper Popken. The team then got its last runner in scoring position in the ninth off of lefthander Taylor Clemensia. With one out, he walked Thomas Bos (who walked three times) and gave up a single to Jochem Koedijk. But the inning and the game then ended when a line drive by Jason Jakobus to first baseman Arthur Lugtmeijer ended in an unassisted double play.
