Complete Schedule

Roef! vs. DSS (game one)
In the first game, Roef! opened the scored immediately in the first inning off of Dagmar Bloeming, who went the distance for DSS. With one out, Kim Donkers doubled, then scored an unearned run when a grounder by next batter Isa Los ended in an error. An attempt followed to eliminate Donkers at the plate, but she scored. On the throw, Los tried to advance to second base, but she was eliminated. However, Roef! led 1-0.

Bloeming got three grounders in the second inning, then saw Roef! leave a runner on second base in the third at bat. But in the bottom of the fourth, Roef! scored three more runs on three hits. There also were two errors, making two of the three runs unearned. Isa Los led off with a triple and scored on a wild pitch. Hereafter, Cindy van der Zanden reached on an infield-hit, then an error was made on a sacrifice bunt by Eva van Knegsel, which led to runners on first and third base. After the latter had stolen second base, a pick-off attempt at third base was made with two outs. That ended in a throwing error, enabling both runners to score and make it a 4-0 score.

Roef! scored its fifth run in the sixth inning. This time, Cindy van der Zanden led off with a triple and scored on a following single by Eva van Knegsel.

DSS collected only two basehits in this game. The first was a single with two outs in the first inning by Morgan Sampson, who stranded on first base. Hereafter, starter Mikayla Endicott retired the side in the next two innings. In the fourth, with Roef! leading only 1-0, Endicott walked lead-off hitter Lisa Waasdorp, who stole second base. The next three batters were eliminated (two strikeouts) and Waasdorp would remain the lone DSS-player to get into scoring position.

In the fifth, Feline Poot led off for DSS with a walk, but Roef! then turned a double play. Annemiek de Rover was then hit by a pitch, but was left behind.

In the sixth, Marjolein Merkx took over the pitching for Roef! and retired five batters in a row. With two outs in the seventh, she gave up a single to Feline Poot, but a grounder then ended the game.

Roef! vs. DSS (game two)
In the second game, Roef! outhit DSS 8-6. In the sixth, DSS rallied for four runs to break a 2-2 tie and went on to end a 10-game losing streak.

The game wasn't the best one defensively, as a total of seven errors were made, four by the Roef!-defense. Despite the errors, only two of the ten runs scored were unearned.

Roef! got into scoring position first off of Quincey Catsburg, who went the distance for DSS. In the bottom of the first inning, lead-off hitter Wies Ligtvoet reached on an error and stole second base, but was left behind. DSS then got its first runner in scoring position in the top of the second inning off of Mikayla Endicott, who made her second start of the day. Sophie Bugter led off with a single, but was forced out on a grounder by Feline Poot, who moved to second base when an error followed. She stranded there, as Endicott closed with two strikeouts.

In the bottom of the second inning, Roef! took an 1-0 lead. Eva van Knegsel led off with a walk, moved to third base on an one-out single by Mikayla Endicott and scored on a sacrifice fly by Naftely Pietersz.

The lead was shortlived, as DSS answered with two runs with two outs in the top of the third inning. Lead-off hitter Annemiek de Rover was hit by a pitch, then moved when a sacrifice bunt by Melissa de Greef ended in a fielder's choice. With runners on first and second base, Noa Brand hit the ball into centerfield. There, centerfielder Isa Los got the ball in time and forced out De Rover at third base. With two outs, De Greef and Brand executed a double-steal, then both scored when Morgan Sampson followed with a single to put DSS ahead, 2-1.

After leaving a runner behind on second base in the third, Roef! came alongside in the fourth. Eva van Knegsel led off with a single, then a throwing error on a force play-grounder by Manon van Alebeek led to runners on first and third base. Van Alebeek's pinch-runner Maureen van Poorten then stole second base and with one out, Naftely Pietersz delivered a runscoring single that made it a 2-2 tie. Van Poorten moved to third base, then was unable to score on a grounder to short and Roef! would leave runners on second and third base.

DSS then struck with four runs in the top of the sixth inning on four hits, while the Roef!-defense committed three errors. Marjolein Merkx took over the pitching for Roef!, but gave up lead-off singles to Noa Brand and Lisa Waasdorp (bunt). A throwing error followed on a sacrifice bunt by Morgan Sampson, which resulted in runners on first and third base, a run and a renewed lead for DSS. Sophie Bugter then delivered a runscoring double. With Bugter on second base and Sampson on third base, Feline Poot popped out, but that also led to two errors. A throwing error to third base followed, enabling Sampson to score. It also brought Bugter to third base and she then also scored when another throwing error followed. That lifted the lead to 6-2 in favor of DSS. With the bases empty and only one out, more scoring appeared to be in the making, as DSS got the bases loaded. Denice van Dijk walked, Stephanie Ruiter reached on an infield-hit and Annemiek de Rover was hit by a pitch for a second time in this game. However, the three runners were left behind when an infield-fly and strikeout ended the long inning.

Remarkable enough, Annemiek de Rover was not hit by a pitch before today. In the opener, she was hit once, in this game, she was hit twice. In the past two seasons, De Rover led the league in this category. In 2015, she set a record with 15 times being hit by a pitch, last season, she was hit 14 times. Before today, she wasn't hit in the eight games she had play so far.

After leaving runners on first and second base in the sixth inning, Roef! narrowed the deficit in the bottom of the seventh. With one out, Kim Donkers walked and Isa Los reached on an infield-hit. After Donkers was forced out on a grouder by Cindy van der Zanden, Eva van Knegsel connected for a runscoring single and advanced on an error. With runners on second and third base, a fielder's choice-grounder by Manon van Alebeek followed. It was attempted to eliminated the scoring Van der Zanden, but she slid in safely at the plate. But that was to be it for Roef!, as force out ended the game. And ended the 10-game losing streak of DSS.
