Jurickson Profar helps Licey to 10th victory

Jurickson Profar scored what would be the winning run in the 10th inning in a 2-1 victory for Tigres del Licey vs. league-leader Aguilas Cibaeñas on Monday-evening (November 4).
Aguilas opened the score in the third inning when Juan Perez led off with a double and then scored on a single by Wilin Rosario.
In the seventh, Licey came alongside when Jorday Valdespin led off with a single, who then advanced on a wild pitch and a flyout, then scored on a single by Dee Gordon.
Jurickson Profar, who was batting second and played at short for Licey was 0-for-4, before he stepped up to the plate in the tenth inning.
He led off the at bat with an infield-hit to second baseman Rafael Ynoa and then advanced to second base when Ynoa made a throwing error.
Moments later, Profar moved to third base when next batter Yamaico Navarro flied out.
An intentional walk for Tony Pena followed, but then Profar scored when Sean Halton grounded into a force out to give Licey a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the 10th, the lead-off hitter reached on an error, but he was picked off, then two grounders ended the game.
With the win, Licey became the first team in the Dominican Winter League to register the tenth victory of the season.
Licey is in second place with a 10-4 record, trailing Aguilas, which is 9-2.
In March, Profar played with the Netherlands National Team in the semi-final of the World Baseball Classic in San Francisco.
