Bernadina, Dickerson join European Big League Tour

ROTTERDAM (Neth.) - American outfielder Chris Dickerson and Dutch outfielder Roger Bernadina joined the line-up of this years European Big League Tour, which opens coming weekend in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. The Tour continues later in the week in French capital Paris.

Earlier, it already was announced that outfielder Curtis Granderson of the New York Yankees will come to Europe to participate in the fourth Tour, organized by Dutch pitcher Rick van den Hurk.

Both Dickerson and Bernadina also participated in last years Big League Tour.

Last year, Chris Dickerson came to Rotterdam as a player of the New York Yankees, this year he will wear the uniform of the Baltimore Orioles. In January of this year, Dickerson was released by the Yankees and he then signed with the Orioles two weeks later. This season, Dickerson played in 56 games for the Orioles and batted .238 (25-for-105) with five doubles and four homeruns. He scored 17 runs and batted in 13. He also played in 37 games for the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A team of the Orioles, hitting .243. Dickerson became a Free Agent on November 1.

Roger Bernadina began the season with the Washington Nationals, where he played in 85 games. 'The Shark' batted .178 (27-for-152) with six doubles, one triple and two homeruns, scoring 18 runs and batting in six. On August 19, Bernadina was released by the Nationals, but two days later, he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies. In the remainder of the season, the outfielder played in 27 games for the Phillies, hitting .187 with 14 basehits, four doubles, one triple and two homeruns, batting in five runs and scoring eight. Bernadina became a Free Agent on October 17.
