CARACAS (Venezuela) -
Dutch pitcher Diegomar Markwell has been added again to the roster of the Leones del Caracas in the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional on Tuesday.
The same day, he returned to the mound and also pitched on Wednesday.
Towards the end of October, Markwell was temporarily removed from the roster in an administrative move.
A player can be left of the roster for a week or longer to give the club the opportunity to have a look at other players.
Markwell was scheduled to be off the roster for two weeks and return on November 9.
He returned back to action a few days later.
On Tuesday, Caracas lost 9-1 at home vs. Cardenales de Lara.
Markwell pitched the ninth inning for Caracas.
The lefthander faced three batters and struckout one.
On Wednesday, Caracas won 7-6 in 10 innings vs. Lara.
With the score at 2-2, both teams scored twice in the seventh inning.
In the top of the 10th, Lara scored two runs to take a 6-4 lead, but in the bottom of the 10th, Caracas scored three runs to win the game on a walk-off single by Jesus Aguilar.
On Wednesday, Markwell took over the pitching in the top of the fourth inning with Caracas leading 2-1.
Markwell replaced starter Tiago Da Silva and retired the side in the fourth inning.
In the next inning, Markwell gave up a lead-off single to Robert Perez, but moments later he picked off the runner at first base, then retired the next two batters.
In the sixth, Markwell gave up a lead-off double to Joe Thurston, who then advanced on a grounder and scored the tying run on a single by Luis Jimenez.
After Markwell struckout the next batter, he was relieved.
