 Evert-Jan 't Hoen wins Rotterdam-Rijnmond Award

Evert-Jan 't Hoen has been chosen Coach of the Year Award during the annual Sport Awards Rotterdam-Rijnmond.
The winners were announced on Monday-evening (December 16) during during the event, which was held in the new Luxor Theater in Rotterdam.
Jan-Dirk Schouten and Fatima Moreira de Melo hosted the evening.
Evert-Jan 't Hoen made his debut this season in the Dutch big league and led DOOR Neptunus to the Dutch championship-title.
Also nominated were Appie Krijnsen (volleyball) and Reinoud Wolff (hockey).
On November 10, 't Hoen also was named Coach of the Year by the European Baseball Coaches Association.
't Hoen becomes the second baseball-coach to win the Award.
In 2005 and 2007, Robert Eenhoorn was named Coach of the Year when he was the Manager of the Netherlands Baseball Team.
While playing himself, Eenhoorn was named Male Athlete of the Year in 1990 and 1999.
DOOR Neptunus was nominated for Team of the Year, but that title went to the men's team of Hockey Club Rotterdam, which captured the Dutch championship for the first time in club-history.
Also nominated was the women's team of Sliedrecht Sport (volleyball).
Neptunus has won the title six times (1991, 1994, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2009).
Other winners tonight were Lisette Teunissen (swimming, Female Athlete of the Year), Joost Luiten (golf, Male Athlete of the Year), Jean-Paul Boëtius (soccer, Metro Talent of the Year), Kevin van Hengel (Rotterdam Rescue Brigade, Volunteer of the Year) and RHV Leonidas (Handicapped Sports Award).
In 2000, Sjoerd Hermans (Neptunus) became the lone baseball-player to be named Talent of the Year.
