PHOENIX, Arizona (USA) -
The Los Angeles Dodgers became the first team to capture a Division-title this season and clinch a spot in the Play-Offs.
On Thursday-evening, the Dodgers came back from behind to win 7-6 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, which was its contender for the championship in the National League West.
In the third inning, Hanley Ramirez hit a 3-run homerun for the Dodgers, but the Diamondbacks then rallied for six runs in the home of the third.
In the sixth, the Dodgers scored two runs on a double by Scott Van Slyke and sac-fly by Michael Young.
In the seventh, Ramirez homered again to tie the score at 6-6.
In the next at bat, AJ Ellis led off with a homerun that gave the Dodgers a 7-6 lead.
Leading 7-6, Dutch National Team-pitcher Kenley Jansen pitched the ninth inning for the Dodgers.
The closer struckout the first two batters he faced, then a flyout ended the game.
And so, Jansen secured the win and earned his 26th save of the season.
Didi Gregorius played at short for the Diamondbacks, but went 0-for-3.
For the Dodgers, this is their first trip to the Play-Offs since 2009.
This season, Arizona led the Western Division of the National League more than the Dodgers.
On June 22, the Dodgers were in last place, trailing the league-leader by 9 1/2 games, but then the team of Manager Don Mattingly win 58 of its next 81 games to win the championship-title.
In March of this year, Jansen was added to the roster of the Dutch National Baseball Team for the semi-final of the World Baseball Classic in San Francisco, but he didn't pitch for the Orange squad.
