  Evert-Jan 't Hoen nominated for EBCA Coach of the Year

The European Baseball Coaches Association (EBCA) last weekend announced the names of the five nominated coaches for the EBCA Coach of the Year Award.
One of the five nominees is Evert-Jan 't Hoen, who this year made his debut as Head Coach in the Dutch big league with DOOR Neptunus and guided the team to the national championship.

EBCA members will soon be invited to vote and decide who will be this years Coach of the Year.
The name of the winner will be announced during the 10th EBCA Convention, which will be held November 8-10 in Belgian capital Brussels.
Last year, the Award was won by Italian Mauro Mazzotti.

Doriano Bindi is nominated for the second year in a row.
This year, he led his team, T&A San Marino, to its third consecutive championship in the Italian Baseball League.
The last time a team won the championship three years in a row was in 1966-1968.
Jan Gregor is involved in youth development.
As member of the coaching-staff of the U18 Czech Team, he reached the final of the European Championship.
But he also participated in the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania (USA) with the Czech Team.
Chris Higgins helped creating the Hünstetten Storms in 2003, beginning with a youth program.
This year, a senior team was created, formed by former junior players, which went 20-0.
He also led his junior-team to the German National Championship.
Evert-Jan 't Hoen is working for several seasons in youth player development with the Unicorns Baseball Academy in Rotterdam.
This year was his rookie-season as Head Coach in the Dutch big league and he captured the championship-title with DOOR Neptunus.
David Winkler is also involved in player development at the Czech Baseball Academy.
He is the Head Coach of the Czech U18 Team, which won Silver at the European Championships this year.
With his clubteam Draci Brno, he won the Czech championship.
During the Convention, speakers include Tom O'Connell, Dave Keilitz, Ron Wolforth (Texas Baseball Ranch), Bill Springman (Minnesota Twins), Gavin Kelly (Turface/Profile Products), Frans Bosch (Fontys University for Applied Science), Martijn Nijhoff (Dutch Academies Coordinator) and Jeff Krushell (MLB Strength & Conditioning Coordinator).
