Italy wins two of three exhibition games for Premier12

In its preparations for the upcoming Premier 12, the National Team of Italy has played three exhibition games so far agaist university teams.
Italy won two of them.
On Friday, Team Italy will close its preparations with a game against Venezuela.

The Italian squad, led again by Manager Marco Mazzieri, opened its series of exhibition games last Sunday (November 1) with a 7-2 loss in eight innings against a team from the University of Taichung.
The Italians collected ten basehits, but also committed three errors, leading to several runs.
On Monday (November 2), Italy played a much better game against the same opponent.
This time, Italy won 3-0 and got good defensive plays.
The team collected six basehits, including a double Erick Epifano.
On Tuesday (November 3), Italy won 9-5 against the team from Kianan University.
In this game, Juan Carlos Infante was 3-for-3, Mario Chiarini was 3-for-5 with a double and Alex Sambucci hit a 2-run homerun.
In the Premier12, Italy is playing in Pool A.
The team opens the tournament on Tuesday against Puerto Rico.
Next Thursday, Italy meets the Netherlands.
Included on the Italian roster are four players who are playing in the Minor League, one who plays in Japan and one who plays in Germany.
All other players are coming from the teams who play in the Italian Baseball League.
The professsional players are pitchers Luis Lugo (Single-A Advanced, Cleveland Indians), Alessandro Maestri (Onyx Buffaloes, Japan) and Trey Nielsen (Single-A Advanced, St. Louis Cardinals), catcher Alberto Mineo (Single-A Short Season, Chicago Cubs) and outfielder Federico Celli (Single-A Los Angeles Dodgers).
Playing in Germany is pitcher Gianny Fracchiolla (Regensburg Legionäre).
