Neptunus, 't Hoen, Kemp, Coach Annie nominated for Rijnmond Awards

Curaçao Neptunus, which this year repeated as Dutch baseball-champion and also won the European Champions Cup (first European Cup since 2004), has been nominated for Sports Team of the Year in the annual election of the Sport Awards Rotterdam-Rijnmond.
Neptunus' Head Coach Evert-Jan 't Hoen and player Dwayne Kemp also have been nominated for respectively Coach of the Year and Male Athlete of the Year.
Coach Annie of the Portland Poema's has been nominated for Volunteer of the Year.
Also nominated for Team of the Year are the Papendrechtse Korfbal Club (PKC) and Victoria Squash.
This year, PKC won the indoor competition-title for the ninth time, while Victoria won the national championship in squash.
Dwayne Kemp was nominated for being a member of the successful team of Neptunus, with whom he won the Dutch championship, as well as the European Champions Cup.
Also nominated is Jeroen Hertzberger (hockey), who won the European title with the National Hockey Team, contributing with a goal in the final against Germany.
The third nominee is Rutger van Schaardenburg (sailing), who this year won the European title.

Evert-Jan 't Hoen is joined by Mark van der Ham (judo), who was very successful this year, as he won bronze on the World Championship, gold and bronze on the European Championship, seven medals (three gold) on the Grand Slam, bronze on the Masters and four Dutch championship-titles.
The third nominee is Arno Havenga (waterpolo), who won the silver medal this year with the Netherlands Women Team on the World Championship in Kazachstan.
't Hoen won the Award in the previous two years.
The fourth baseball-nominee is simple known as Coach Annie.
She shows an enormous passion for the children she coaches at the Poema's.
The Antillian coach also is involved in Bean Bag Baseball and G-baseball.
Also nominated for Volunteer of the Year are Philip Scheffer and Leon van Pul (Spartaan '20, soccer) and 80-year old Alie Kooren (Stichting Roeivalidatie, rowing).
Nominated for Female Athlete of the Year are Marhinde Verkerk (judo), Maud Megens (waterpolo) and Lisette Teunissen (adjusted swimming).
Nominated for Sports Talent of the Year are Bo Bendsneyder (motorrace), Marieke Keijser (rowing) and Rick Karsdorp (soccer).
Nominated for the Handicapped Sports Award are TTV Alexandria '66 (table tennis), Rotterdam Basketbal (G-basketbal) and Atomium '61 (G-handball, goalball).
Everyone can cast their vote on Sport Awards Rotterdam-Rijnmond until November 30.
The winners will be announced on December 7 at the Nieuwe Luxor Theater in Rotterdam.
