The first inning didn't start well for UVV, but it did manage to score a run.
Rick Kuipers led off with a walk, but then was caught stealing.
Hereafter, Gilmer Lampe also walked, but he was then picked off first base by starting pitcher Quinn Tramm.
While both runners were eliminated, Tramm then walked the third batter in a row, this time Dennis De Quint.
The Belgian player then advanced on a passed ball and moved to third base when Omar Williams singled.
De Quint then scored the first run for UVV when he was awarded home plate on a balk.
Williams of course then moved to second base, but he was left behind.
After being retired in order in the second inning, UVV added a run in the third at bat.
With two outs, Gilmer Lampe tripled and scored on a following single by Dennis De Quint.
UVV was held scoreless in the next three at bats by Tramm.
In the sixth, the team failed to add a run, leaving three runners behind.
With two outs, Tramm walked Omar Williams, then hit both Mike Bazuin and Tony Enos with a pitch.
A grounder then ended the at bat.
In the top of the seventh, UVV finally was able to take some more distance, scoring four runs of six hits.
Thomas Smits led off with a single, then his pinch-runner Jamie Verheyleweghen advanced on a bunt-single by pinch-hitter Norbert Jongerius.
That led to a pitching change, as Kevin van Veen took over for Quinn Tramm.
Next, a double steal failed, as Verheyleweghen was caught stealing.
But then, Rick Kuipers and Gilmer Lampe followed with runscoring singles.
With two outs, Lampe was on second base and he moved to third on a passed ball, then scored on a single by Omar Williams.
Mike Bazuin followed with another single and that brought in new pitcher Michel Offerman.
Moments later, Williams and Bazuin advanced on a passed ball, then the bases got loaded when Tony Enos walked.
Offerman then hit Joris van Ballegooy with a pitch, resulting in another run and a 6-0 lead for UVV.
Three runners were left behind when a grounder ended the inning.
UVV scored two more runs in the eighth inning.
With one out, Rick Kuipers and Gilmer Lampe walked, then both scored on a double by Dennis De Quint.
The Hawks had to wait until the eighth inning to get an opportunity to do something back.
UVV-starter Jurjen van Zijl retired 23 batters in a row and was pitching a Perfect Game in the eighth inning.
The righthander needed only four more outs to accomplish the feat.
But his Perfect Game then ended.
With two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, Brian Raap singled up the middle to break both the Perfect Game and the No-Hitter.
Hereafter, Tim Roodenburg also singled.
The bases got loaded when Van Zijl hit Louie-Jay Sienders with a pitch, but he gave up no runs, as a force out ended the inning.
Kevin Noordzij pitched the ninth inning for Van Zijl, who had thrown exactly 100 pitches.
Noordzij gave up a lead-off single to Jules Peters, but he was forced out.
Another force out and a flyout then ended the game.
