CEB awards 2018 European Championship to Germany

ZAGREB (Croatia) -
The executive committee of the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) held a meeting at the CEB-Office in Zagreb in the weekend of September 19-20.
During the meeting, two tournaments were awarded.
The organization for the European Baseball Championship in 2018 was awarded to Bonn and Solingen (Germany) and the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV).
With that, the event will return to Germany for the sixth time.
The last time was in 2014 when one of the preliminary rounds took place in Regensburg.
The event also was held in Germany in 2010 when Stuttgart was the main site.
Bonn and Solingen, together with Cologne, hosted the 2001 European Championship.
On September 17, it was announced that the CEB had awarded the 2016 European Championship to Hoofddorp (Netherlands).
The Juveniles (U12) European Championship for 2016 was awarded to Trebic and the Czech Baseball Association (CBA).
Also, the announced foreigner rule got approved by the executive committee and will be valid from January 1, 2016:
The participation of foreign players in the Cup competitions is regulated as follows:
The players who have a different nationality than that of the country the team represents and have a different nationality than one of the CEB Member Federations, are considered foreign players.
