HCAW opened today's game with one run in the second inning off of starter José Moreno.
Jarreau Martina led off with a bunt-single, then advanced on a passed ball.
Hereafter, Jelle Blaauw walked.
A wild pitch brought Martina to third base, while Blaauw stayed at first.
The latter was then caught stealing moments later, but that enabled Martina to score and give HCAW an early lead.
After leaving two runners in the third inning, HCAW scored three unearned runs in the fourth at bat.
With one out, Jelle Blaauw reached second base on a throwing error, then moved on a single by Rikkert Kempen.
An infield-hit towards third base by Max Clarijs loaded the bases.
Moreno then struckout Peter van Doesburg, but followed with a walk for Emersson Paula, resulting in a run.
Next batter Marciano Philippi then delivered a 2-run single to lift the lead to 4-0.
In the remainder of the game, HCAW was held scoreless.
Despite reaching base in the final five innings, only one runner was left behind.
In the fifth, Kevin Nieveld led off with a single, but The Hawks then turned a double play.
Hereafter, Jelle Blaauw singled, but he was caught stealing.
In the sixth, Quinn Tramm took over the pitching for Moreno and retired the side in the sixth and seventh.
With two outs in the eighth, he walked Blaauw, but he then again was caught stealing in a run-down after a pick-off.
In the ninth, Tramm hit lead-off hitter Rikkert Kempen and he became the lone stranded runner for HCAW in the final five at bats.
Kempen would be left behind on third base.
The Hawks scored its lone run in the fifth inning.
In the second through fourth inning, the home team left a runner in scoring position each time.
In the second, Stephen Henson doubled with one out, but stranded.
In the third, Louie-Jay Sienders led off with a walk and was left on second base.
In the fourth, Tim Roodenburg led off with a single and later was left on third base.
The Hawks got its lead-off batter on base again in the fifth when Brian Raap singled off of starter Maickel Rietel.
A single by Louie-Jay Sienders followed.
With one out, an error was made on a force play-grounder by Odion Gouverneur that loaded the bases.
Only one run was scored in this situation, which was done on a following sacrifice fly by Jules Peters.
Two runners stranded in scoring position when a grounder ended the at bat.
After being retired in order in the sixth, The Hawks left another runner in scoring position in the seventh.
It again got its lead-off batter on base when Brian Raap doubled.
He moved on a wild pitch, but then three outs followed.
In the eighth, Rietel was relieved by Gijs van Els and the lefthander retired the side.
Steven van Groningen then closed the game, pitching the ninth inning.
He gave up an one-out single to Gregory Trinidad, but he was forced out, then a strikeout ended the game.
And with that, the season for HCAW ended with a sweep, while The Hawks now has to look forward and prepare itself for the best-of-five Promotion/Relegation Play-Off against Twins.
