UVV vs. L&D Amsterdam Pirates
Amsterdam Pirates opened the score with one run in the first inning, but was unable to take more distance in the following at bats.
UVV then came alongside in the fourth and added two runs in the fifth.
And so, Amsterdam trailed 3-1 after six innings, but then turned the game its way by scoring five runs in the final three innings to complete a sweep.
In the top of the first inning, off of Canadian righthander Jeremy Filipek, Amsterdam opened the score.
With one out, Michael Duursma doubled and Remco Draijer walked.
The bases got loaded when Kenny Berkenbosch followed with a single.
But Amsterdam was limited to only one run, which was scored when next batter Danny Rombley was hit by a pitch.
Hereafter, two grounders ended the at bat and three runners stranded.
Amsterdam left two more runners in the second inning.
Patrick Bok then led off with a single and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Max Clarijs.
During his bunt, Clarijs was hit on his finger by the ball and had to leave the game.
Rashid Gerard took over his position as catcher.
With two outs, Michael Duursma walked, but a strikeout closed the at bat.
Amsterdam was retired in order by Filipek in the third and fourth inning.
Amsterdam-starter Dennis Burgerdijk retired the first eight batters he faced in order.
With two outs in the third inning, Dennis Ribbens reached on an error, but was left behind.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, UVV came alongside.
Jamie Verheyleweghen led off with a single, then moved on an one-out single by Omar Williams and scored on a following single by Mike Bazuin.
With two outs, the bases got loaded when Norbert Jongerius walked, but then it was UVV's turn to leave three runners behind.

UVV took a 3-1 lead by scoring twice in the fifth inning.
Dennis Ribbens led off with a single, then advanced when an error was made on a bunt by Julian Rip.
Next batter Jamie Verheyleweghen then registered a bunt-single towards Burgersdijk, but a throwing error followed, which led to a run.
A following single by Tony Enos made it 3-1 in favor of UVV.
Tom de Blok became Amsterdam's new pitcher in the sixth inning.
He began with a walk for Berend Ruben, who moved on a sac-bunt and stole third base, but was left behind.
From the seventh inning on, Amsterdam Pirates turned the game its way.
In the seventh, one run was scored.
With one out, Nick Urbanus doubled and Michael Duursma reached on an error.
With runners on first and third base, Gilian van Lith took over the pitching for Jeremy Filipek, but got the bases loaded when he walked Remco Draijer.
Van Lith then also walked Kenny Berkenbosch, which led to a run and another pitching change.
Kevin van Veen took over and successfully closed the inning.
Amsterdam then struck with two runs in the eighth inning.
Linoy Croes (who had just entered the game defensively) led off with a double and moved on a sacrifice bunt by Patrick Bok.
Croes scored the tying run when next batter Rashid Gerard grounded out.
Hereafter, Nick Urbanus doubled and scored on a following single by Michael Duursma.
After Urbanus scored, there was a discussion regarding the 'collission-rule' at the plate.
Initially, UVV protested the play, but afterwards, the protest was withdrawn again.
Amsterdam Pirates then took more distance by scoring twice in the ninth inning off of new pitcher Quinn Tramm.
Danny Rombley led off with a single, moved on a sacrifice bunt by Jesse Aussems and a wild pitch, then scored on a single by Linoy Croes.
The latter went on to steal second base, moved on a single by Patrick Bok and scored the next run when Rashid Gerard reached on an error.
In its last three innings, UVV reached base only one more time.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth off of reliever Daan Hendrix, Dennis Ribbens singled.
But he stranded, as Hendrix closed the game with a strikeout.
