BUSSUM / AMSTERDAM / HEILOO (Neth.) -
Baseball is almost back in the Netherlands!
Weather permitting, the exhibition season opens coming Saturday, March 5 with two games, involving three big league-teams.
At Bussum, HCAW will host L&D Amsterdam Pirates on Saturday.
Both teams will meet each other again on Sunday, but then in Amsterdam.
Both games are scheduled to start at 1 PM.
Also playing coming Saturday, starting at 2 PM, will be DSS, which made its debut in the highest league last season and left a fine impression.
DSS will travel to Heiloo, where it will play against Double Stars Heiloo, which finished in fifth place last year in the second highest league ('Overgangsklasse').
A week later, all eight Dutch big league-teams are scheduled to play.
The regular season opens on Thursday, April 14.
For coming weekend, for both Saturday and Sunday, there is a 40 percent chance of showers, which can include hail or snow flurry.
It will be two cold days with possible freezing temperatures varying from minus one Celsius (30 Fahrenheit) on Saturday and zero (32 Fahrenheit) on Sunday to a maximum on six (43 Fahrenheit) on both days.
