L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg
Starting pitchers Robin Schel (Pirates) and Jan Tomek (Legionäre) were much up to each other and didn't gave way much.
Runs and basehits were scarce and so, the first six innings remained scoreless, as so, it was a real interesting pitching-duel.
In that span, Schel gave up two hits, while Tomek gave up only one.
In the first two at bats, Regensburg was retired in order, while Amsterdam got into scoring position.
In the bottom of the first inning, with one out, Michael Duursma walked and Gilmer Lampe was hit by a pitch.
But hereafter, Duursma was forced out on third base and a groundout ended the at bat.
In the second inning, Kenny Berkenbosch led off with a walk, but was forced out on a grounder by Linoy Croes.
The latter then advanced on a single by Rashid Gerard, but again two runners were left behind.
Gerard's basehit would be the lone one for Pirates in the entire game!
Amsterdam again got a baserunner in the third and fourth inning, but didn't got into scoring position.
In the third, Remco Draijer walked with two outs, but stranded on first base.
In the fourth, Linoy Croes reached first base when his strikeout ended in a wild pitch.
Moments later, he was caught stealing.
Amsterdam was then retired in order in the fifth and sixth at bat.
After being retired in order in the first two innings, Regensburg got its first runner in scoring position in the top of the third inning.
Nino Sacasa led off with a single and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Marcel Jimenez, then moved to third base on a passed ball.
Sacasa then tried to score on a grounder to short by next batter Elias Von Garßen, but was eliminated at the plate.

Hereafter, a double play and a strikeout ended the inning.
In the top of the seventh inning, Christopher Howard registered the third basehit for Regensburg.
With one out, he singled, but the Amsterdam-defense then again turned a double play.
Amsterdam Pirates then opened the score in the bottom of the seventh inning without hitting a basehit.
Lead-off hitter Kenny Berkenbosch reached on an error, then Linoy Croes walked.
The two advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Rashid Gerard to give Amsterdam its first runner on third base in this game.
With runners on second and third base, a pitching change followed, as David Brandl took over for Jan Tomek.
Brandl began by striking out pinch-hitter Koen Nooij, but then uncorked a wild pitch that enabled Berkenbosch to score.
A groundout then ended the at bat, but Amsterdam was leading 1-0.
Robin Schel retired the side again in the eighth inning.
After having thrown eight great innings, the lefthander was relieved by closer Daan Hendrix in the ninth.
He got two quick outs, but then walked Lukas Jahn, who advanced on a passed ball.
Hendrix then closed the game in style by striking out Maik Ehmcke to secure the win.
With that, Amsterdam Pirates clinched a spot in the semi-final!
