Final game Twins against UVV series rains out
Nederlands
VLEUTEN (Neth.) -
The third game of the 3-game series between Pickles UVV and De Glaskoning Twins had to be cancelled due to rain and field conditions on Sunday (July 3).
It had rained sometimes heavy through the night, resulting in the cancellation early in the morning.
The game is re-scheduled for coming Tuesday-evening (July 5), starting at 7:30 PM in Vleuten.
No starting pitchers were officially announced for today's game.
It was expected that veteran righthander Elton Koeiman was to start for Twins.
UVV is the lone team that has never announced its starting pitchers this season.
Twins had won the first two (home) games of the series.
On Thursday, Twins won 14-7 in a slowpaced game, which lasted only six innings and the had to be stopped due to tye curfew-rule.
That game was played at the site of The Hawks in Dordrecht, due to the insufficient light installation at the home site of Twins.
Due to this situation, Twins will play all its evening home games on another site.
On Saturday, now playing on its home field in Oosterhout, Twins won 7-3.
With that, UVV lost its 17th consecutive game, which is the longest losing streak in the regular season since ADO Lakers lost 23 in a row during the 2013 season.
