On Wednesday, the New York Mets and San Francisco Giants face each other in the National League Wild Card Game.
In the AL Wild Card Game, which had good pitching, Toronto opened the score in the second inning when José Bautista led off with a homerun off of starting pitcher Chris Tillman.
In the top of the fourth, Adam Jones led off for the Orioles with a single off of starter Marcus Stroman.
With one out, Manny Machado lined out to centerfielder Kevin Pillar, who made a nice running catch.
But hereafter, Mark Trumbo drilled the ball into the leftfield stands for a 2-run homerun to give Baltimore a 2-1 lead.
The lead didn't last long, as the Blue Jays came alongside in the fifth.
With one out, Michael Saunders (ground-rule) and Kevin Pillar hit back-to-back doubles.
Saunders might have had a chance to score on Pillar's double, but he was stopped at third base.
He then did score on a following single by Ezequiel Carrera, but hereafter, the Orioles turned an inning-ending double play.
The Orioles also ended the eighth and ninth inning with a double play.
In the bottom of the eleventh inning, Brian Duensing became the new pitcher for the Orioles and began with a strikeout.
Hereafter, he was replaced by Ubaldo Jimenez, but he gave up singles to Devon Travis and Josh Donaldson to put runners on first and third base.
On the very next pitch, Edwin Encarnacion drilled the ball deep into leftfield for a walk-off, 3-run homerun.
In 2013, Encarnacion played for the team of the Dominican Republic that won the World Baseball Classic.
In the semi-final of that event, he played against the Netherlands Kingdom Team.
In that team, Jonathan Schoop was one of the players, who tonight faced the Blue Jays with the Orioles.
Schoop, who this season started all 162 regular season-games for the Orioles, was 0-for-4 with a strikeout.
