Xander Bogaerts & Kenley Jansen in All Star Game

Short stop Xander Bogaerts and closer Kenley Jansen have been chosen to play in the upcoming 87th Major League All Star Game, which will be played next Tuesday (July 12) at Petco Park, the home of the San Diego Padres in San Diego.
The rosters for the All Star Game were announced on Tuesday-evening (July 5).
Xander Bogaerts, who plays for Boston Red Sox, will start the game as short stop for the American League All Stars, who will be managed by Ned Yost, who last year won the World Series with the Kansas City Royals.
Bogaerts is one of the players who got enough votes from the fans to be one of the starting players in the game.
The other starters for the American League are:
C-Salvador Perez (Kansas City Royals), 1B-Eric Hosmer (Kansas City Royals), 2B-José Altuve (Houston Astros), 3B-Manny Machado (Baltimore Orioles), OF-Mookie Betts (Boston Red Sox), OF-Jackie Bradley, Jr. (Boston Red Sox), OF-Mike Trout (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), DH-David Ortiz (Boston Red Sox).
The National League All Stars will be managed by Terry Collins, the Manager of the New York Mets, who won the National League-championship last season, but then lost to the Royals in the World Series.
The entire infield for the National League exists of players of the successful Chicago Cubs.
The starting players for the National League are:
C-Buster Posey (San Francisco Giants), 1B-Anthony Rizzo (Chicago Cubs), 2B-Ben Zobrist (Chicago Cubs), 3B-Kris Bryant (Chicago Cubs), SS-Addison Russell (Chicago Cubs), OF-Yoennis Cespedes (New York Mets), OF-Dexter Fowler (Chicago Cubs), OF-Bryce Harper (Washington Nationals).
The reserve players and pitchers also have been named.
They were picked by the two managers, but also by coaches, and input from the fans.
Amongst the pitchers chosen for the National League is Kenley Jansen, the closer of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Recently, Jansen became the all-time save-leader of the Dodgers.
This will be the first All Star Game for both Bogaerts and Jansen.
Bogaerts becomes the first player from Aruba to play in an All Star Game.
Jansen becomes the third player from Curaçao to play in an All Star Game.
Andruw Jones was the first and played in five All Star Games (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006).
The second Curaçao-born player in an All Star Game was pitcher Jair Jurrjens (2011).
There has been one Dutch-born player in an All Star Game and that of course is pitcher Bert Blyleven (1973, 1985).
