UVV vs. HCAW
In tonight's game, HCAW outhit UVV 11-5 and won 7-3.
Kevin Weijgertse and rookie Dalvin Kortstam both had two basehits for HCAW.
Weijgertse also scored twice.
HCAW opened the score with two runs in the second inning off of starter Timo van Ancum.
Kevin Weijgertse led off with a single, then Kevin Nieveld walked.
With one out, Levine Gabriëls delivered a double that brought in Weijgertse.
Nieveld also tried to score, but was eliminated at the plate.
Now with two outs, Gianni Frolijk singled to bring Gabriëls to third base.
In a steal-situation, the latter scored the second run.
Sander Helmendach started for HCAW and had a fine outing.
The righthander, who also started last Sunday's game against Kinheim, walked lead-off hitter Rick Kuipers in the first inning, but then retired nine batters in a row, including six strikeouts.
Kuipers stole second base and moved to third base on a grounder, but then was left behind.
Rookie Moreno Vork took over in the fourth.
Vork was one of two added rookie-pitchers, HCAW's Head Coach Roy Berrevoets used in tonight's game.
Vork caught a line drive by lead-off hitter Sven Jongejans, then gave up a single to rookie Tim Veraghtert, but he stranded on second base.

Still leading only 2-0, Vork ran into problems in the fifth.
With two outs, he gave up a double to Belgian Jamie Verheyleweghen, who then stole third base.
The bases got loaded when Vork walked Norbert Jongerius and Rick Kuipers.
When he also walked next batter Sven Jongejans, it resulted in a 2-1 score and a pitching change.
Jay-Jay Muller, also a rookie, took over and he got a grounder that ended the inning.
In the top of the sixth inning, HCAW took more distance by scoring three runs.
In the previous at bat, the Bussum-squad had runners on first and second base when Kevin van Veen took over for Van Ancum.
Van Veen was then supported with a double play, but he then gave up three runs in the sixth.
The righthander walked Vince Rooi, then gave up a double to Kevin Weijgertse.
Both scored when Kevin Nieveld followed with a single.
He then moved on a single by Raoell Kortstam and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jelle Blaauw.
After leaving the bases loaded in the fifth inning, UVV scored another run in the bottom of the sixth.
Omar Williams was hit by a pitch, advanced on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Mike Bazuin.
But HCAW added two more runs in the seventh inning off of new pitcher Quinn Tramm.
He gave up a lead-off single to Dalvin Kortstam, then walked Roelie Henrique with one out.
That was followed by a runscoring single by Rossini Frolijk and a sacrifice fly by Vince Rooi.
In the bottom of the seventh, UVV scored its third and last run, also off of Muller.
With one out, Norbert Jongerius singled and stole second base.
The bases got loaded when Rick Kuipers walked and Sven Jongejans singled.
A walk for Tim Veraghtert then led to a run, but Muller followed with a strikeout, then a grounder ended the inning and the game.
Before the game, it was agreed to play only seven innings.
With tonight's win, HCAW moved into first place in the standings of the exhibition season, based of the points earned for games won and tied.
Curaçao Neptunus has the best record, but is one point behind HCAW.
