DSS vs. Kinheim
Kinheim got its first three batters in the game on base off of Mike Groen when both Jasper Keijzer and Julio Hernandez walked and Kevin Moesquit reached on a bunt-single.
A flyout followed, then Niels van Weert also flied out and that led to a double play, as Keijzer was eliminated at the plate, trying to score.
After Kinheim failed to open the score in the top of the first inning, DSS scored twice in its first at bat off of Glenn Wassink.
With two outs, Koen Halderman and Melvin Perdue both singled, then a throwing error on a grounder by Mitchel Koot led to the first run.
The bases got loaded when Joffrey Heus walked, then another run was scored when next batter Sven van der Sanden also walked.
A strikeout ended the at bat, leaving three runners behind.
Kinheim scored its first run in the top of the third inning, when Jochem Koedijk led off with a walk, stole second base, moved on a single by Jasper Keijzer and scored on a sacrifice fly by Julio Hernandez.
However, DSS got the run back immediately in its third at bat.
With two outs, Joffrey Heus singled, advanced on a wild pitch, then scored when an error followed on a grounder by Sven van der Sanden.
Trailing 3-1, Kinheim decided the game with a 6-run rally in the top of the fourth inning on only two basehits, as the DSS-defense committed two costly errors, resulting in four unearned runs.
Lead-off hitter Niels van Weert reached on an error, then Oliver van der Wijst Severino walked and Sander Paap added a runscoring single.
The bases got loaded when Dexter de Weert was hit by a pitch, then Kinheim took a 4-3 lead when Jochem Koedijk followed with a 2-run double.
When next batter Jasper Keijzer was also hit by a pitch, it re-loaded the bases.
A force out at the plate followed on a grounder by Julio Hernandez, but then an error on a force play-grounder by Kevin Moesquit led to two runs and pitching change.
Mark van Deursen took over and saw Dudley Leonora hit a sacrifice fly that made it a 7-3 score.
Kinheim added two runs in the sixth on a double by Julio Hernandez and a single by Dudley Leonora.
The team then had another big rally, scoring five runs in the seventh at bat.
But first, DSS scored its fourth run in the bottom of the sixth on an error.
In the seventh, Kinheim increased the lead to 14-4 by scoring five runs.
That happened on three consecutive runscoring hits.
With one out and the bases loaded, Julio Hernandez singled in the first run.
Hereafter, Kevin Moesquit and Dudley Leonora added back-to-back, 2-run doubles.
DSS scored its last run in the bottom of the seventh off of reliever Scott Ronnenbergh.
Melvin Perdue led off with a triple and scored on an error, which avoided a 10-run difference mercy-rule loss.
