DSS vs. Sweden
In tonight's game, the lead changed four times, but it was DSS that failled to hold onto a lead three times.
After a scoreless first inning, Sweden opened the score in the top of the second inning off of DSS-starter Donny Breek.
Peter Johannessen singled and stole second base, moved on a grounder, the scored on a double by Nico Felice.
The lead was shortlived, as the team of Manager Rickard Reimer (himself a former National Team-player) gave up two runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Jack Keeler then took over the Swedish pitching, but he gave up four basehits.
Mitchel Dautzenberg singled and scored the tying run on a double by Ryan Miner.
The latter then moved on a single by Menno Lenting and scored on a single by Melvin Perdue to give DSS a 2-1 lead.
However, this lead also was erased, as Sweden came alongside in the fourth inning off of new pitcher Lars Vogelaar.
Joel Johnson then singled and scored on a double by Peter Johannessen.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, DSS again scored two runs to take the lead for the second time.
The Haarlem-squad got the bases loaded when Tino van Erk walked, Sven van de Sanden doubled and Ties van der Beeke also walked.
Hereafter, a hit into short rightfield by Mitchel Dautzenberg appeared to be catchable, but dropped.
As all runners of course all waited on what would happen, Van der Beeke could be forced out 9-4 on second base, but it also enabled Van Erk to score and make it 3-2 in favor of DSS.
A grounder by Ryan Miner then made it 4-2.
After a scoreless fifth inning, Sweden requested to play the next innings with the tie-break rule to get some more acquainted with it.

In the top of the sixth, Sweden came alongside for the second time, scoring twice off of Tim Halderman, who had taken over the pitching in the previous inning.
With pinch-runner Tommy Lindell on second base and Peter Johannessen on first base, it was attempted to put them in scoring position.
However, a bunt by Matt Merriefield ended in a force out on third base.
A single by Per Sjörs then loaded the bases and Nico Felice followed with a 2-run single that made it 4-4.
In the bottom of the sixth, DSS answered with three runs to take the lead for the third time.
Albin Sivard became the fourth Swedish pitcher, but the lefthander would give up three runs without giving up a basehit!
Tie-break runners Tommy van de Sanden (2nd base) and Tino van Erk (1st base) advanced when a pick-off by the catcher ended in an error.
Hereafter, Sivard struckout the next two batters, but then got the bases loaded when he walked Damian Melis.
That was the first of four consecutive walks!
With the bases loaded, Sivard also walked Mark van Deursen, Joffrey Heus and Kevin Geestman, resulting in three runs and a 7-4 lead for DSS.
But again, DSS failed to hold onto the lead, as Sweden scored three runs in the top of the seventh off of new pitcher Mike Groen to make it another tie score.
With Adam Sorgi (2nd base) and Daniel Johnson (1st base) as tie-break runners, a grounder by Johan Klarberg ended in a force out.
Pontus Byström and Björn Johannessen followed with runscoring singles to narrow the deficit to 7-6.
A wild pitch led to runners on second and third base, then a walk for Peter Johannessen loaded the bases.
Moments later, the tying run was scored on a single by Matt Merriefield, but Sweden then would leave three runners behind.
After the top of the seventh inning, it was decided to stop the game, which was well attended.
That meant that DSS didn't hit anymore in its seventh inning and so, the game ended in a 7-7 tie.
