L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. HCAW
Before the game there was a nice gesture by the umpiring crew on this Mother's Day, as Umpires Stenar van Groningen Schinkel, Rudsel Schoobaar and Roy van de Wateringen presented flowers to Official Scorer Brigitta Zaal, Scoreboard Operator Jolande Bierman and Amsterdam Pirates Secretary Kerstin Anthoni.

HCAW initially took a 2-0 lead in the first at bat off of starter Dennis Burgersdijk, but faced a 4-2 deficit after the second inning.
In the top of the first, Marciano Philippi led off with a walk, but was forced out on a grounder by Roelie Henrique.
The latter then stole second base and scored the first run on a following single by Vince Rooi.
Next batter Kevin Weijgertse walked, then a possible double play-grounder by Rossing Frolijk followed.
Weijgertse was forced out, but Frolijk reached first base safely on a following throwing error, which enabled Rooi to score the second run.
Amsterdam struck with four runs in the second at bat off of starter Jim Ploeger.
Lead-off hitter Remco Draijer reached on an error, then advanced to third on a single by Rashid Gerard and scored on a double by Koen Nooij.
A sacrifice fly by Max Clarijs tied the score, then Nooij gave Pirates a 3-2 lead by scoring on a wild pitch.
With two outs, Danny Rombley added a runscoring single to make it 4-2.
From the fifth inning on, Amsterdam started to take more distance.
In the fifth, lead-off hitter Michael Duursma was hit by a pitch, moved on a wild pitch and a grounder, then scored on another wild pitch.
HCAW got its first two batters on base in the sixth when Roelie Henrique and Vince Rooi both walked.
An infield-fly followed, then Robin Schel took over the pitching and was supported with a double play.
Amsterdam added three more runs in the sixth.
Jim Ploeger ran into problems as the first four batter reached base safely.
Rashid Gerard led off with a single, then the bases got loaded when Koen Nooij walked and Max Clarijs reached on a bunt-single.
A run was scored when Nick Urbanus was hit by a pitch, which led to a pitching change.
Giovanni Tensen took over, got two quick outs, but then gave up a 2-run single to Danny Rombley that lifted the lead to 8-2.
Pirates scored its final run in the seventh when Remco Draijer led off with a triple and scored on a following single by Rashid Gerard.
