Netherlands vs. USA
Team USA rallied for five runs in the first inning off of two pitchers. Dutch starter Susan Erades gave up a lead-off triple to Brittany Gomez, then followed with a walk for Jade Gortarez. Hereafter, Megan Baltzell (two runs) and Malaika Underwood (one run) followed with back-to-back doubles. An error led to the next run, then the bases got loaded and led to a pitching change. Berber Jansen took over, but walked Gomez in her second at bat in the inning, resulting in a 5-0 lead. But hereafter, three runners stranded.

The American women added three runs in the second inning on only one basehit. With one out, a hit batter and a walk led to two baserunners, followed by a runscoring grounder. The bases then got loaded via two more walks. Maaike Haak was brought in as new pitcher, but committed a runscoring balk, then gave up an RBI-single to Anna Kimbrell that made it 8-0.

The American squad scored two more runs in the third. Amalia Hopson led off with a double, then scored when an error was made on a grounder by Malaika Underwood. The bases got loaded on singles by Tamara Holmes and Jessica Iwata, then a force play-grounder lifted the lead to 10-0.

In the fourth and fifth inning, Maaike Haak held the Americans scoreless.

Marti Sementelli went the distance for Team USA. She faced the minimum total of batters in this game, 15, but did allow a Dutch batter to reach base.

Sementelli retired the first ten batters she faced. But hereafter, her Perfect Game ended when Esther Maliepaard reached on an infield-hit with one out in the fourth. Unfortunately, she was picked off at first base moments later, then a flyout ended the inning. Sementelli retired the side again in the fifth at bat to end the game.
