DSS vs. Vaessen Pioniers
Lars Huijer started for Pioniers and did very well, pitching three strong innings.
The righthander gave up only one basehit to Seb Visser.
He was supported with two runs in the third inning which were scored off of Rik Geestman.
Shavently Profar led off with an infield-hit, moved on a grounder, then stole third base.
Moments later, he scored the first run on a single by Mervin Gario, who went on to score himself on a following double by Austin Weymouth.
DSS got a run back in the bottom of the fourth inning off of new pitcher Jonatan Isenia, who had some problems with finding the strike-zone.
The former pro walked lead-off hitter Sven van der Sanden.
He was forced out on a grounder by Mitchell Koot, but then the bases got loaded when Isenia also walked Ryan Miner and Ruben Prins.
A following walk for Seb Visser then led to the run, but DSS was unable to add more runs.

Leading only 2-1, Pioniers took some more distance in the fifth inning when it scored two runs off of new pitcher Tim Halderman.
Zerzinho Croes then walked and was able to move to third base when a pick-off ended in an error.
Hereafter, Croes scored on a single by Mervin Gario.
The latter moved to second base when Austin Weymouth also singled.
Next batter Quintin De Cuba then hit the ball up the middle for an infield-hit.
As the ball ended up in a difficult spot, Gario was able to score from second base and make it a 4-1 score.
In the bottom of the fifth, Maickel Rietel took over from Isenia and threw three scoreless innings.
Jonah Van Bemmelen pitched a scoreless eighth inning, but then DSS scored its second run in the ninth off of closer Sedley Karel.
In the ninth, Sven van der Sanden walked, then moved to third base when Menno Lenting singled.
In a following steal-situation, Lenting was eliminated, but Van der Sanden was able to score.
However, this was to be the last run scored by DSS.
