Twins shuts out Amsterdam Pirates

AMSTERDAM (Neth.) -
De Glaskoning Twins rallied for five runs in the first inning and went on to shutout L&D Amsterdam Pirates 6-0 on Saturday-afternoon (July 9).
Amsterdam had won its previous ten games in the second half of the regular season.
Japanese righthander Keiji Uezono went the distance for Twins and gave up only four basehits.
He gave up only one basehit in the first five innings.
Amsterdam Pirates got into scoring position only twice in the first seven innings.
In the final two innings, the team got some scoring opportunities, but left a total of five runners.
In the first inning, Twins rallied for five runs on five hits and two errors.
Twins got its first three batters on base, then Berry van Donselaar delivered a 3-run triple to open the score!
Van Donselaar accounted for three of the eleven hits Twins registered.
He batted in four runs and scored once, making him responsible for five of the six runs Twins scored.
