HCAW vs. DSS
After a scoreless first inning, HCAW opened the score in the bottom of the second inning off of starter Rik Geestman.
With two outs and Rossini Frolijk (fielder's choice) on first base, the lefthander walked Levine Gabriëls, who last season was one of the catchers of DSS.
Hereafter, Gianni Frolijk followed with a runscoring single.
DSS came alongside in the third at bat.
Starter Sander Helmendach saw lead-off hitter Ryan Miner reach on an error, then was relieved by Ian Delemarre.
A grounder by Joffrey Heus moved Miner to second base and he was able to advance to third base on a wild pitch by Delemarre.
Moments later, he scored the tying run when Tino van Erk singled.
HCAW got the run back immediately in its third at bat to re-take the lead.
With one out, new pitcher Tim Halderman walked Roelie Henrique, who then moved to third base on a single by Kevin Weijgertse and scored the go-ahead run on a following single by Vince Rooi, who made his debut in a HCAW-uniform.
HCAW added another run in the sixth inning off of DSS-newcomer Gijs Timmer.
He gave up a lead-off single to Rooi, who then moved on a grounder by Kevin Nieveld and scored on a single by Rossini Frolijk.

DSS was retired in order in the fourth by Delemarre, then reached base in the fifth when Joffrey Heus was walked by new pitcher Marco Schel, but he stranded on first base.
In the sixth, with two outs, Melvin Perdue singled and Mitchel Dautzenberg walked, but then a force play-grounder ended the at bat.
In the seventh, DSS was retired in order by Giovanni Tensen, HCAW"s fourth pitcher in the game.
In the next at bat, Seb Visser led off with a walk and Perdue walked with two outs, but this time, a double play followed.
Leading only 3-1, HCAW made it a much bigger score by scoring five runs in the bottom of the eighth off of Kevin Geestman, who had become the fourth pitcher for DSS in the seventh.
He walked lead-off hitter Dalvin Kortstam, then Kevin Nieveld singled, which was the first of six consecutive basehits.
With runners on first and third base, Rossini Frolijk delivered an RBI-double, then a runscoring single by Julian Goins was followed by an outfield-error, which resulted in an additional run.
Jelle Blaauw connected for the next basehit.
Hereafter, Boyd Tuhumury and Raoell Kortstam added runscoring singles that lifted the lead to 8-1.
It also marked the end of the game.
Geestman, as were all pitchers, was throwing on a pitch-count and already had exceeded that.
Before the game, it already had been decided that the game would last no longer than eight innings.
