Curaçao Neptunus vs. DSS
Before the game, a ceremonial first pitch was thrown by a representative of the project ''Alleen jij bepaalt'' (Only you decides).
Neptunus-player Raily Legito is one of the ambassadors of the project, which is an initiative of the Ministry of Security and Justice, which gives young students the opportunity to get useful meanings to free time through participating in teamsports in order to enable them to make positive choices.
Via baseball, basketball and soccer-clinics, it is explained that success and discipline are linked together closely and they are stimulated to become a member of a sports club.
Several baseball- and softball-clubs are associated with the project, including big league-clubs Curaçao Neptunus and L&D Amsterdam Pirates.
The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) also has joined the project.
Raily Legito himself was not present, as he currently is in Curaçao for a week, working on a project there.
Neptunus scored three runs in the first three innings, while DSS got four baserunners, but three of them were eliminated.

For DSS, Ryan Miner led off with a walk, but was forced out on a following grounder by Menno Lenting.
The latter was then eliminated in a double play on a grounder by Melvin Perdue.
In the second inning, Mitchel Koot led off with a single, but stranded on third base.
In the third at bat, Seb Visser led off with a walk and advanced on a wild pitch.
But with one out, he was doubled up on second base after a flyout into leftfield.
Neptunus was more successful in its first three at bats off of rookie Donny Breek.
The righthander retired the side in the first inning, but gave up a run in the next at bat.
With one out, Rien Vernooij walked, moved on a single by Daniel Fernandes, then scored on a 2-out double by Shaldimar Daantji, but Neptunus left runners on second and third base.
Neptunus added two runs in the third after the DSS-defense had turned a double play.
Christian Diaz then walked, stole second base and scored on a single by Dashenko Ricardo, who then went on to score on a triple by Rien Vernooij.
But from the fourth inning on, the game started to turn the way of DSS.
Neptunus was held scoreless, then DSS struck in the seventh at bat.
Breek retired the side (two strikeouts) in the fourth and added two more scoreless innings.
In the top of the fourth, Menno Lenting led off with a single off of starter Diegomar Markwell and scored on a following double by Melvin Perdue.
Later in the at bat, Neptunus turned its third double play.
In the seventh inning, with one out and Joffrey Heus (fielder's choice) on first base, Sven van der Sanden walked.
That led to a pitching change.
Bayron Cornelisse took over, but he got the bases loaded when he walked Mitchel Dautzenberg with two outs.
Ryan Miner and Menno Lenting followed with runscoring singles that tied the score.
Hereafter, Cornelisse walked Melvin Perdue that gave DSS a 4-3 lead.
Cornelisse was replaced by Berry van Driel, who closed with a strikeout, but the game now had turned the way of DSS.
In the bottom of the sixth, DSS turned its second double play in the game, then Neptunus got the bases loaded in the seventh and ninth inning, but failed to score.
In the seventh, Gijs Timmer took over the pitching from Donny Breek, who again did very well.
With one out, he walked Benjamin Dille, but was forced out on a grounder by Christian Diaz.
When Timmer gave up a single to next batter Dashenko Ricardo, he was relieved by Max Ploegstra.
He got the bases loaded when he walked Rien Vernooij.
One of his next pitches almost hit Daniel Fernandes, which could have tied the score.
But Fernandes dodged to be hit and later struckout, meaning three runners were left behind.
In the eighth, Shaldimar Daantji doubled with one out for Neptunus.
Ploegstra was then relieved by Kevin Geestman, who eliminated the next two batters.
In the ninth, Geestman walked Benjamin Dille and Christian Diaz, who advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Dashenko Ricardo.
A force play was then set up by walking Rien Vernooij intentionally.
Hereafter, another pitch came close to hitting Daniel Fernandes, who this time flied out.
Geestman closed the inning and the game by striking out Gianison Boekhoudt to secure the surprise victory by the Haarlem-squad.
