Kinheim vs. Pickles UVV
Both teams turned a double play in the first inning, but then UVV scored six runs in the top of the second inning.
In that at bat, five batters walked.
Kinheim-starter Luis Figuera Roman walked the first four batters he faced, Mike Bazuin, Sergino Martis, Rick Kuipers and Sven Jongejans, which led to the first run.
Tijmen Takke and Julian Rip followed with runscoring singles to make it a 3-0 score.
Hereafter, Jamie Verheyleweghen grounded into a double play, but that also brought in the next run.
Figuera then walked Tony Enos, who stole second base.
With runners on second and third base, the Venezuelan righthander gave up a 2-run double to rookie Steven van Reem that lifted the lead to 6-0.
In the bottom of the second inning, Kinheim got the bases loaded, but there also was a heated discussion.
With one out, Dudley Leonora reached on an error, then Niels van Weert walked.
Next batter Oliver van der Wijst Severino was then called out on strikes and when he reacted to that, the rookie was ejected.
That led to more discussions and eventually also the ejection of Kinheim's 1B Coach Stanley Engelhardt and Kinheim's first baseman Bryan Engelhardt, who had led off the inning with a flyout.
When the game resumed after a brief delay, Kinheim got the bases loaded when Sander Paap became the next batter to receive a walk.
However, three runners stranded when a pop-fly ended the inning.
UVV added two runs in the top of the third inning.
Sergino Martis led off with a walk, then Rick Kuipers reached on a bunt-single.
A double play followed, but then rookie Tijmen Takke delivered a runscoring single and Julian Rip produced the next run with a triple to make it 8-0.
That was to be it for UVV, but the comfortable 8-0 lead was not enough!

Kinheim got one run back in the bottom of the third when Jasper Keijzer led off with a walk and scored on a double by Julio Herhandez.
Kinheim rallied for four runs in the fourth inning off of starter Timo van Ancum.
It got the bases loaded when Niels van Weert led off with a single and both Thomas Bos and Sander Paap walked.
The latter was forced out on a grounder by Jochem Koedijk, but that also enabled Van Weert to score.
Kinheim re-loaded the bases when Jasper Keijzer walked, which was followed by a runscoring wild pitch.
Hereafter, Julio Hernandez also walked, which loaded the bases again and led to a pitching change.
Gilian van Lith took over, but he walked Kevin Moesquit to bring in a run.
A force-out on a grounder by Dexter de Weert gave Kinheim the next run and narrowed the deficit to 8-5.
In the fifth inning, Kinheim came alongside.
With one out, Thomas Bos walked, stole second base and moved on a single by Sander Paap.
A balk was then called and with that, Bos was awarded home plate.
A single by Jochem Koedijk and hit batter for Jasper Keijzer loaded the bases, then a walk for Julio Hernandez made it 8-7.
That also led to another pitching change, as Kevin van Veen took over.
He saw Kevin Moesquit hit the ball into the outfield for a sacrifice fly that made it an 8-8 score!
In the top of the sixth inning, UVV briefly re-took the lead.
Tijmen Takke led off with a walk, then Nick Veltkamp took over the pitching for Kinheim.
Moments later, Takke was forced out on a grounder by Julian Rip, who stole second base, moved on a grounder and scored on a wild pitch.
The run was credited to Figuera, as Rip reached on a fielder's choice that eliminated a runner which was left by him.
In the bottom of the sixth, Kinheim answered with four runs.
Dudley Leonora led off with a single, then the bases got loaded when Niels van Weert and Sander Paap (with one out) walked.
The walk Paap received was the 22nd and last issued of the evening.
With two outs, all three scored on a baseclearing double by Jasper Keijzer, who later scored himself on a single by Julio Hernandez.
In the seventh, Kinheim scored three runs to increase its lead to 15-9.
Kevin Moesquit led off with a double and Dexter de Weert singled.
Hereafter, Norbert Jongerius took over the UVV-pitching, but was greeted with a 2-run triple by Dudley Leonora.
An error following a flyout enabled Leonora to score the next run.
With a few minutes before 10:30 PM, the eighth inning began.
This was to be the last, as the curfew-rule states that no new inning may be started after 10:30 PM.
In the eighth, Rick Kuipers led off with a double.
With two outs, he moved to third base on a wild pitch, but Veltkamp then closed with a strikeout.
And that ended the tumultuous game.
