Nederlands
AMSTERDAM (Neth.) -
L&D Amsterdam Pirates won 6-4 in a 6-inning game against De Glaskoning Twins on Sunday (March 13) to register its third exhibition victory and remain unbeaten.
Amsterdam trailed 4-1 in the fifth inning, then scored four runs to turn the game its way.
Before the start of the game, there was a moment of silence in remembrance of former Pirates-coach Louis Hofer, who passed away on Wednesday.
Hofer led the Amsterdam-squad in three different stints as Head Coach and was an Assistant Coach when the team captured the Dutch championship-title in 1990.
As was the case on Saturday, the same teams also played again today.
It was a clear sky and sunny today, however, the wind chill was cold.
On Saturday, the average temperature at game time was 9 degrees Celsius (48,2 Fahrenheit) with a wind chill of 7 degrees C (44 F).
While it appeared sunnier today, the wind chill was much lower, as there was more wind.
For all three games, it was around eight degrees Celsius (46 Fahrenheit) when they started, however, the wind chill was only 4,7 Celsius (40 Fahrenheit).
At Rotterdam, Curaçao Neptunus won big in its second game against Orioles, 12-3, in an 8-inning game.
At Haarlem, HCAW shutout DSS 11-0 in a 6-inning game.
