Kinheim vs. Pickles UVV
Just like on Thursday-evening, it was UVV that opened the score, but today, the lead was briefly.
UVV scored twice in the first at bat off of starter Glenn Wassink, but these were the lone runs scored today by the team.
With two outs, UVV got the bases loaded when Tony Enos and Omar Williams both singled and Steven van Reem walked.
A following walk for Mike Bazuin then led to a run, as did a bunt-single by Rick Kuipers.
But UVV left the bases loaded when a line drive by next batter Tim Veraghtert was caught.
The inning began with two grounders.
With one out, Jamie Verheyleweghen tried to beat out a grounder towards short, but while doing so, he sustained a hamstring-injury and had to leave the game.
Kinheim cam alongside immediately in its first at bat off of starter Jurjen van Zijl, scoring two unearned runs.
After Jasper Keijzer had led off with a single, Julio Hernandez reached on an error.
Next, a grounder by Kevin Moesquit also ended in an error, but also led to the first run.
After Hernandez and Moesquit had advanced on a sacrifice bunt, a sacrifice fly by Niels van Weert tied the score at 2-2.
UVV appeared to do something back in the second inning when Tijmen Takke led off with a single and Norbert Jongerius singled with one out.
The two advanced on a grounder, but then were left behind.
In the bottom of the third inning, Kinheim took the lead scoring another unearned run and UVV lost another player.
Jasper Keijzer led off with a single, then an error on a force play-grounder by Julio Hernandez led to runners on second and third base.
Hereafter, Keijzer scored on a single into centerfield by Kevin Moesquit.
While going after the basehit, UVV's centerfielder Julian Rip also sustained a hamstring-injury and also was unable to continue.
Moments later, Hernandez and Moesquit advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Dudley Leonora, then the bases got loaded when Oliver van der Wijst Severino walked with two outs.
But Jurjen van Zijl closed with a strikeout and so, three runners were left behind.
Kinheim then started to take more distance from the fourth inning on, scoring ten runs in the next three at bats.
In the fourth, Kinheim scored three runs.
Niels de Weert led off with a single, then the bases hot loaded with two outs when Julio Hernandez and Kevin Moesquit walked.
All three runners scored when Dudley Leonora followed with a 3-run triple.
Kinheim also scored three runs in the fifth at bat.
The bases got loaded via a walk for Oliver van der Wijst Severino and singles by Chiel Berkhout and Dexter de Weert.
This led to a pitching change, as Thijs Steenwijk took over for Van Zijl.
He walked Jochem Koedijk to bring in a run, then gave up a 2-run single to Jasper Keijzer that lifted the lead to 9-2.
In the sixth inning, Kinheim reached the 10-run difference by scoring four runs.
With two outs and Niels van Weert (lead-off single), Chiel Berkhout (one-out single) and Jochem Koedijk (2-out walk) on the bases, a wild pitch led to the first run in this at bat.
An error on a grounder by Jasper Keijzer then led to the next run and Julio Hernandez followed with a 2-run single to make it 13-2.
In the top of the seventh inning, Scott Ronnenbergh took over the pitching for Kinheim.
With one out, he walked Tony Enos.
The lefthander followed with a strikeout, but then walked pinch-hitter (and pitcher) Jeremy Filipek.
A flyout followed and that ended the game via the mercy-rule.
