Curaçao Neptunus vs. Kinheim
Kinheim was off to a good start, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning off of Kenny Van Den Branden, who reportedly had some elbow-problems.
The Belgian righthander gave up lead-off singles to Jasper Keijzer and Julio Hernandez, but the first was forced out on a grounder by Kevin Moesquit.
Hereafter, Van Den Branden ran into problems.
First, the two runners advanced on a wild pitch, then Dudley Leonora delivered a runscoring single and later stole second base.
With runners on second and third base, Niels van Weert connected for the next runscoring single and Dexter de Weert also added an RBI-single to make it 3-0.
Kinheim added a run in the second inning.
Jochem Koedijk then led off with a double and next batter Jasper Keijzer was hit by a pitch.
The two moved on a sacrifice bunt by Julio Hernandez, then Koedijk scored on a sacrifice fly by Kevin Moesquit, which lifted the lead to 4-0 in favor of the Haarlem-squad.
David Bergman, who is retiring after completion of the season, got three quick outs in the first inning, but then also encountered problems in his second inning on the mound.
Gianison Boekhoudt led off with a single and Dashenko Ricardo walked, then Benjamin Dille hit a runscoring single with one out.
Daniel Fernandes followed with another runscoring single, then the bases got loaded when Shaldimar Daantji also singled.
A sacrifice fly by Dwayne Kemp brought in the next run and Randolph Oduber followed with a 2-run double.
That made it a 4-4 tie and led to the early departure of Bergman, who was relieved by Nick Veltkamp.
The lefthander retired Raily Legito to end the inning.
Kinheim immediately re-took the lead in the top of the third inning.
With two outs, Victor Draijer doubled and scored on a following single by Thomas Bos.
In the bottom of the third inning, Neptunus got a chance to erase the deficit, as it had runners on first and third base with one out.
But the Kinheim-defense then turned a double play to end the at bat.
In the top of the fourth inning, Jasper Keijzer led off for Kinheim with a bunt-single.
That led to the departure of Van Den Branden.
He was replaced by Berry van Driel, who retired the next three batters.

In the bottom of the fourth, it was Neptunus that scored again and took the lead for the first time.
Daniel Fernandes led off with a walk and Shaldimar Daantji followed with a bunt-single.
The two moved on a sacrifice bunt by Dwayne Kemp, then Randolph Oduber singled to bring in Fernandes and tie the score.
A sacrifice fly by Raily Legito and single by Gianison Boekhoudt then led to two more runs and a 7-5 lead for Neptunus.
After Kinheim was retired in order in the top of the fifth, Neptunus added a run in its fifth at bat when Rien Vernooij led off with a homerun.
Trailing 8-5, it was Kinheim's that turned the game its way again in the top of the sixth, scoring four runs off of relievers Bayron Cornelisse and Loek van Mil, who ran into problems.
Cornelisse started the inning in relief of Van Driel, but he walked lead-off hitter Thomas Bos and then gave up a single to Jochem Koedijk.
After an infield-fly accounted for the first out, the runners advanced on a wild pitch.
The bases then got loaded when Julio Hernandez walked and with that, Neptunus Head Coach Evert-Jan 't Hoen quickly went to the bullpen.
While it was only the sixth inning, he went by reliever Steven van Groningen and brought in closer Loek van Mil instead.
Another option in this situation would have been short reliever Kevin Kelly.
However, he is sidelined after sustaining a hamstring injury a week ago.
It was reported that he sustained a tear in his hamstring and would be out for the remainder of the season.
Van Mil gave up three consecutive basehits, which gave Kinheim its third lead in the game.
With the bases loaded, the long righthander gave up an RBI-single to Kevin Moesquit, which kept the bases loaded.
The bases were then cleared when Dudley Leonora followed with a 3-run double.
He moved to third base when Niels van Weert also singled, but a double play then ended the productive at bat.
Kinheim now led 9-8, but the game was far from over.
In the bottom of the sixth, Tom Stuifbergen became the new pitcher for Kinheim.
The righthander is recovering from an injury, but did well.
With one out, he gave up a single to Raily Legito, but then eliminated the next two batters, closing with a strikeout.
Victor Draijer (lead-off) and Jochem Koedijk (with one out) then were walked by Van Mil in the top of the seventh, but they were left behind.
Still holding an one-run lead in the bottom of the seventh, Reggie Bomberg took over the pitching for Stuifbergen, but he became the next pitcher to ran into problems quickly.
He gave up a lead-off single to Rien Vernooij, who then advanced on a sacrifice bunt Benjamin Dille.
The bases then got loaded when Bomberg walked Daniel Fernandes and Shaldimar Daantji.
Hereafter, Dwayne Kemp singled to make it a 9-9 tie, then Randolph Oduber walked to give Neptunus a 10-9 lead.
Next, Raily Legito hit a sacrifice fly that made it 11-9 in favor of the home team.
With two outs, Kemp and Oduber executed a double-steal and Gianison Boekhoudt walked.
But this time, Neptunus stranded three runners, as a groundout ended the inning.
But now it was Neptunus again that was holding the lead.
Kinheim was unable to come back again this time.
Loek van Mil didn't encounter more problems and retired all six batters he faced in the eighth and the ninth to complete the come-from-behind-victory.
In the bottom of the eighth, Kinheim inserted another pitcher who is recovering from an injury, Glenn Wassink.
The righthander retired the side.
Hereafter, Van Mil struckout two of the three batters he faced in the ninth to end the game.
