Pickles UVV vs. Kinheim
UVV struck with three runs in the bottom of the first inning off of starter David Bergman.
The veteran righthander got the bases loaded quickly when he walked Rick Kuipers, gave up a single to Berend Ruben and also walked Tony Enos.
Bergman then gave up a runscoring single to Omar Williams.
Steven van Reem then grounded the ball to third baseman Oliver van der Wijst Severino, which resulted in a rare double play.
First, Enos (the runner coming from second base) was forced out at third base.
Hereafter, the ball was thrown to catcher Dexter de Weert, who got it in time to tag out Ruben (the runner from third base).
Van Reem and Williams then advanced on a passed ball and Mike Bazuin followed with a runscoring single that made it 2-0.
Van Reem later scored on a wild pitch to make it 3-0.
Kinheim got one run back in the second inning off of starter Jeremy Filipek.
Niels van Weert led off with a walk, moved to third base on a single by Oliver van der Wijst Severino, then scored on an one-out single by Dexter de Weert.
In the bottom of the second, UVV scored another run.
Sven Jongejans led of with a walk, advanced on a sacrifice bunt and a grounder, then scored on a single by Berend Ruben.
Kinheim narrowed the deficit to 4-2 in the top of the fourth inning.
With one out, Oliver van der Wijst Severino reached second base on an error, then scored with two outs when Dexter de Weert also reached on an error.
In the fifth inning, Kinheim got the bases loaded, but failed to score.
With two outs, Kevin Moesquit and Dudley Leonora (bunt) singled, then an error folowed on a force play-grounder by Niels van Weert.
But hereafter, a succcessful play on another force play-grounder ended the inning.
UVV then reacted with a run of its own in the fifth off of Nick Veltkamp, who had taken over for Bergman in the third inning.
With one out, Omar Williams reached on an error, then the bases got loaded when Steven van Reem and Mike Bazuin singled.
A following single by Norbert Jongerius then brought in a run, but this time, UVV left three runners behind, as a strikeout and groundout ended the at bat.
Kinheim scored its next run in the sixth inning, but was unable to turn the game its way, as it had done on Thursday-evening.
With two outs, Jochem Koedijk singled, stole second base and scored on a single by Jasper Keijzer, but he would later strand on third base.
UVV took more distance by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
With two outs, Tony Enos doubled and scored on a following single by Omar Williams.
Steven van Reem followed with a double, which brought in Reggie Bomberg as new pitcher.
Bomberg was greeted with a runscoring single by Mike Bazuin, that lifted the lead to 7-3.
In the seventh inning, Kinheim again left three runners behind.
Kevin Moesquit led off with a walk and then moved to third base when an error was made on a force play-grounder by Dudley Leonora, who was caught stealing moments later.
Thomas Bos then walked and the bases got loaded when Sander Paap also walked with two outs.
That led to a pitching change and Tony Enos took over for Jeremy Filipek.
The inning then ended with a groundout.
Kinheim had one run left, which was scored in the eighth.
Jochem Koedijk led off with a double, moved on a grounder and scored on a single by Julio Hernandez.
In the top of the ninth, Kinheim had a runner on first base with one out, but Tony Enos then ended the game by striking out the next two batters.
