HCAW vs. Kinheim
Before today's game, Adrie Berrevoets threw out the ceremonial first pitch to open the new home-season of HCAW.
Through 2010, Berrevoets was the dug-out scorer for HCAW for many years.
Berrevoets returned in that position for Saturday's game in Haarlem, filling in for Rob Schuurman, who was his successor from the 2011 season on.
Schuurman, who shared the position with Berrevoets in 2010, was unable to be at the game, as the 55-year wedding anniversary of his parents was celebrated.
There were three generations of the Berrevoets-family on the field during the ceremony.
Adrie's son Roy is the current Head Coach of HCAW and his grandson Milko caught the first pitch.
Kinheim's veteran starter David Bergman saw HCAW get into scoring position in the second and third inning, but avoided giving up runs.
The righthander retired the side in the first inning, but then gave up an one out-double to Kevin Weijgertse in the second inning.
He moved to third base when Marciano Philippi followed with a single, but both were left behind.
In the third, with one out, Boyd Tuhumury and Roelie Henrique singled.
The bases got loaded when Rossini Frolijk walked on four straight pitches.
However, the inning then ended when next batter Vince Rooi went after the first pitch he saw and grounded into a 5-2-3 double play.
Moments later, Kinheim opened the score in the top of the fourth inning.
Lefthander Jim Ploeger started for HCAW and also saw Kinheim strand runners in scoring position.
In the first inning, Niels van Weert singled with one out and Bryan Engelhardt singled with two outs, but Ploeger closed with a strikeout.
In the second, Dexter de Weert was hit by a pitch and stole second base, but then stranded, as Ploeger struckout the next two batters.
In the fourth, Bryan Engelhardt led off with a walk, then advanced to third base on a single by Dudley Leonora.
The latter was forced out on a grounder by Oliver van der Wijst Severino, but that enabled Engelhardt to score.
Van der Wijst stole second base, then Dexter de Weert walked.
A double steal followed, but then Van der Wijst was eliminated at the plate trying to score on a grounder by Sander Paap.
Kinheim stranded two runners.
The Haarlem-squad doubled its lead in the fifth inning.
With one out, Niels van Weert walked, moved on a grounder and scored on a double by Bryan Engelhardt.
With that, he accounted for both Kinheim-runs, as he scored the first and batted in the second.

HCAW cut the deficit in half in the sixth inning.
Lead-off hitter Roelie Henrique reached second base when an error was made on his grounder.
He then advanced on a grounder by Rossini Frolijk and scored on a single by Kevin Weijgertse.
In the seventh inning, Kinheim made its third double play of the game after the inning had begun with a great defensive play by short stop Dudley Leonora on a grounder by Levine Gabriëls.
In the eighth inning, Reggie Bomberg took over for Bergman and retired all six batters he faced.
Arshwin Asjes, who was Kinheim's regular closer in the past few seasons and was on the winter roster, is no longer with the team.
