At Maryvale Baseball Park in Phoenix, the Milwaukee Brewers hosted the Cincinnati Reds and lost 7-6.
In the game, Chad Tromp made his Spring-debut when he entered the game in the bottom of the seventh inning as new catcher for the Reds, replacing Tucker Barnhart.
Tromp also was added to the team of the Reds on March 8, but then didn't play.
Today, he again was an additional player and saw some action.
In the top of the eighth inning, with Juan Duran (walk) on first base and one out, Tromp was hit by a pitch from Zach Davies.
The bases got loaded when Yorman Rodriguez also walked.
Moments later, Duran and Tromp scored on a following double by Tyler Holt.
Tromp scored the seventh run for the Reds, which would be the difference today.
For the 20-year old Tromp, this was the first time that he played in a Major League Spring Training-game.
Last year, the Aruba-born Tromp also was assigned to a game as an additional Minor League-player, but then didn't play.
At Peoria Stadium in Peoria, a split-squad of the Texas Rangers visited the Seattle Mariners and lost 7-1.
In this game, Chris Garia made his Spring-debut and was 0-for-2.
On March 4, Garia also was added to the team as an additional player, but then didn't play.
But today, he entered the game in the bottom of the fifth as the new leftfielder for the Rangers.
Garia got his first at bat in the sixth inning, but then lined out to second baseman Shawn O'Malley.
In the eighth, with two outs and a runner on third base, Garia struckout.
Last year, Garia played in five Spring Training-games for the Rangers.
The 23-year old outfielder made his debut in the Netherlands Kingdom Team in Novermber last year and then participated in the Premier12 in Taiwan.
At Salt River Fields at Talking Stick in Scottsdale, the Arizona Diamondbacks won 11-8 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers.
In the top of the eighth, with two outs and a runner on first base, Shawn Zarraga entered the game as pinch-hitter for pitcher Jamey Wright and delivered a single.
But he was then force out moments later.
Zarraga left the game again in the bottom of the eighth.
At Surprise Stadium in Surprise, a split-squad of the Kansas City Royals won 7-4 against a split-squad of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Andrelton Simmons started for the Angels, but again was the designated hitter.
He had a good outing, hitting 3-for-4.
In the top of the first inning, Simmons singled with one out, but then a double play followed.
In the third, he grounded into a double play himself.
In the sixth, Simmons delivered his second single with one out and a runner on first base, but a again, a double play ended the at bat.
In the ninth, Simmons led off with a single, then was replaced by a pinch-runner.
And guess what?
A double play followed.
Also at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, a split-squad of the Texas Rangers won 7-5 against a split-squad of the Kansas City Royals.
Jurickson Profar started at short for the Rangers and was 0-for-3.
He grounded out in the first inning.
With a runner on third base and one out in the third, Profar lined out.
In the fith, with two runners on base, he grounded out.
Profar was then replaced in the top of the seventh.
At Tradition Field in Port St. Lucie, the New York Mets hosted the Washington Nationals, which won with a 12-7 score.
Randolph Oduber was added to the team of the Nationals for this game.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, he entered the game as new rightfielder and that made his defensive debut.
In his other game for the Nationals this Spring Training, Oduber only got one at bat.
In the top of the ninth, Oduber got his lone at bat and grounded out.
At George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, the New York Yankees were beaten 11-2 by the visiting Baltimore Orioles.
Didi Gregorius was the starting short stop for the Yankees, was 1-for-2 and was responsible for both runs.
The Orioles rallied for four runs in the first inning off of lefthander C.C. Sabathia.
But in the second inning, the Yankees made it a 4-2 score off of Miguel Gonzalez.
Mark Teixeira led off with a walk, then Dustin Ackley doubled with one out.
Moments later, both scored when Didi Gregorius followed with a single.
But that was to be it today for the Yankees.
Gregorius flied out in the fifth inning, then was replaced in the top of the seventh.
In the same game, Jonathan Schoop started at second base for the Orioles and was 1-for-3 with a walk, while scoring two runs.
Schoop hit a force play-grounder to Gregorius in the first inning, then moved to third on a double by Manny Machado and then both scored when Mark Trumbo folowed with a homerun.
Schoop also hit a force play-grounder in the second at bat.
In the fourth, with two outs and two runners on base, Schoop walked.
Machado followed with a 2-run single, which led to a pitching change.
Andrew Miller took over for Sabathia, but was greeted with a single by Trumbo that brought in Schoop and lifted the lead to 7-2.
In the sixth, with one out and a runner on first base, Schoop singled.
Machado again delivered a runscoring single, but Schoop was left behind this time.
Schoop was then replaced in the bottom of the sixth inning.
At jetBlue Park in Fort Myers, a split-squad of the Boston Red Sox lost 8-6 to the Minnesota Twins.
Xander Bogaerts started as short stop for Boston and was 0-for-3 with an RBI.
In the bottom of the first inning, Mookie Betts led off for Boston with a single, moved on a double by Dustin Pedroia, then scored the first run on a grounder by Bogaerts.
Bogaerts flied out in the third at bat, then struckout in the fifth.
He was then replaced in the top of sixth.
