L&D Amsterdam Pirates vs. DSS
After the Amsterdam-defense had turned an inning-ending double play in the top of the second inning, the team opened the score moments later in its second at bat.
Remco Draijer led off with a walk, was awarded second base when a balk was called on DSS-starter Timo van Lingen, then scored on a following double by Linoy Croes.
While Draijer scored, Croes tried to advance to third base, but was eliminated there.
The home team added three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Danny Rombley then led off with a bunt-single and stole second base.
With one out, he scored on a double by Kenny Berkenbosch, who then scored himself when Linoy Croes followed with a homerun to lift the lead to 4-0.
DSS, which stranded a runner on third base in the second and in the fourth inning, scored its lone run in the top of the fifth off of starter Kyle Ward.
With one out, Tommy van de Sanden singled and Joffrey Heus walked.
Herefater, Menno Lenting singled down the rightfield-line and that brought in Van de Sanden.

That also led to a pitching change, as Mark van Deursen took over for Timo van Lingen.
He held Amsterdam scoreless in the next two innings, but the 6-1 lead was enough for the home team.
In the top of the seventh inning, Pim Walsma took over the Amsterdam-pitching for Kyle Ward and retired the side (two strikeouts).
