Theo Meijer Quick Amersfoort vs. De Glaskoning Twins
Twins was held scoreless in the first two innings by Quick-starter Bob Klaarenbeek, but scored at least twice in each of the next six innings.
Lefthander Klaarenbeek, who pitched for big leaguer HCAW last season, allowed only one batter to reach base in the first two innings.
In the third inning, Twins opened the score with two unearned runs.
With two outs, Yuri Wang and Nick Peels singled and they both scored when a hit by Shurty Tremus was missed in the outfield.
Twins then rallied for four runs in the fourth inning, which also were all unearned.
With one out, new pitcher Mees Cremer, who came to Quick from UVV, gave up a bunt-single to Berry van Donselaar.
An error on a grounder by Chris Ge and a walk for Irving Redan then loaded the bases.
A throwing error on a grounder by Mick Molenaar then accounted for two runs and a force play-grounder by Yuri Wang enabled both Redan and Molenaar to score.
Veteran righthander Elton Koeiman started for Twins.
He gave up a lead-off single to Kevin Windster in the first inning, but three flyouts followed.
In the second at bat, Bas Nooij led off with a double.
In the past seasons, Nooij played in the big league for Amsterdam Pirates.
But he also was left behind.

In the fourth inning, with one out, Wesley Bernardus walked.
He also is former big leaguer on the Quick-roster, as he has played for HCAW and Kinheim.
Other former big leaguers are Bas de Jong and Jos de Jong, who both played for HCAW and Amsterdam Pirates.
With Bernardus on first base, Bas de Jong singled, then both runners scored when Bas Nooij followed with his second double in the game.
Hereafter, Jos de Jong (who played at first base) grounded out.
Ben Van Nuffel then took over for Koeiman.
He walked Aaron Isenia, who is the son of former big league-player Marvin Isenia.
But the Belgian hurler then closed with a strikeout.
In the fifth, Twins scored two more runs.
Shurty Tremus led off with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Dennis De Quint.
Hereafter, Jeffrey Arends also doubled and later scored on a passed ball.
Twins again scored twice in the sixth off of 15-year old Tshawn James, who took over the pitching.
He gave up a lead-off double to Irving Redan, then walked Mick Molenaar.
They respectively scored on a single by Yuri Wang and a sac-fly by Nick Peels.
In the bottom of the sixth, Quick also scored two runs off of Van Nuffel.
Remi Denis led off with a walk, then Wesley Bernardus followed with a double.
Denis then went on to score on a passed ball and Bernardus on a grounder by Bas Nooij, who had three RBI's.
But the last six Quick-batters were retired in order.
Twins scored its last two runs in the seventh inning off of James.
Dennis De Quint (walk) then scored on a double by Berry van Donselaar, who scored himself on a 2-out single by Irvin Redan.
