Draci Brno vs. Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg
After three scoreless innings, Brno opened the score in the bottom of the fourth inning off of Daniel Mendelsohn, who then took over the pitching from starter Blake Hassebrock.
He gave up a lead-off single to Martin Schneider, who then stole second and third base with one out and scored on a sacrifice fly by Tomáš Polanský.
Regensburg was held scoreless by Brno-starter Radim Chroust, who was relieved in the fifth by Jan Vašourek.
In that inning, the Germans came alongside.
Lead-off hitter Elias Von Garßen walked, but was forced out on a grounder by David Dinski.
The latter then advanced on third base on a single by Marcel Jiménez and scored the tying run on a following sacrifice fly by Alexander Schmidt.
In the top of the seventh, Regensburg took a 3-1 lead off of new pitcher Michal Sobotka, scoring two unearned runs.
With two outs, Marcel Jiménez reached on an error and stole second base.
Next batter Alexander Schmidt walked, then Lukas Jahn and Nico Sacasa followed with runscoring singles.
With Regensburg now leading 3-1, Gabriel Camino took over the pitching in the bottom of the seventh inning for Mendelsohn.
But he ran into problems.
With one out, veteran Pavel Budský walked, then Karel Hrušovský singled to put runners on first and third base.
The bases got loaded when pinch-hitter Alexander Derhak walked.
Camino was relieved by Jan Tomek, who got a grounder that led to a force out at the plate, then another grounder ended the at bat, meaning the Czechs stranded three runners.
Brno left two more runners in the eighth, but then was retired in order in the ninth, ending the game.
