Nederlands
OOSTERHOUT (Neth.) -
De Glaskoning Twins trailed 3-0, but won 4-3 in ten innings against DSS on Saturday (August 20) after having lost the opening game of the series last Thursday-evening.
With the win, Twins secured its spot in next years big league.
Last placed DSS can still end up in a tie with Twins, but then has to win all four remaining games, while Twins has to lose its remaining games.
However, in that scenario, Pickles UVV will finish in last place.
A tie between Twins and UVV also is a possibility, but then DSS will end up in last place.
A 3-way tie between these teams is not possible.
DSS scored a run in the third, then added two in the seventh to take a 3-0 lead.
However, Twins then scored a run in the seventh, eighth and ninth to come alongside and force extra innings.
In the bottom of the tenth, Twins decided the game when it got the bases loaded and Jeffrey Arends then walked.
Keiji Uezono threw all 10 innings for Twins.
The Japanese righthander gave up only three hits, but nevertheless trailed 3-0 in the seventh inning.
In the third, two errors led to the first run.
In the top of the seventh, Uezono lost his No-Hitter when Koen Halderman led off with a double.
A grounder and a double by Sven van de Sanden then made it 3-0 in favor of DSS.
