UVV comes back late and wins in 10 innings

BUSSUM (Neth.) -
Pickles UVV trailed 6-2, came alongside, then won 9-7 in ten innings on Saturday (August 20) against HCAW.
Trailing 1-0, HCAW scored three runs in the second inning.
With a 3-2 lead, the Bussum-squad added two runs in the fifth inning, but then also left three runners behind.
Trailing 6-2, UVV rallied for four runs in the top of the eighth inning off of Jim Ploeger, who had taken over the pitching for HCAW.
Ploeger, who had been used primarily as a starter this season, gave up four hits, including a 2-run single by Sergino Martis.
In the tenth inning, a grounder and a 2-run single by Steven van Reem led to three runs and gave UVV a 9-6 lead.
HCAW was unable to turn the game around again in its favor.
