HOOFDDORP (Neth.) -
Vaessen Pioniers has added American-Dutch pitcher Jonah Van Bemmelen to its roster, the club confirmed in the weekend.
It is expected that Van Bemmelen, who has both an American and Dutch passport, will arrive coming Friday.

The 22-year old Van Bemmelen is a righthanded, submarine pitcher, a way of pitching that is not much seen in the Dutch big league-competition.
Submarine pitchers are a common sight in Asian baseball.
,,We have a good feeling about him and think, he will be a valuable addition to the staff'', General Manager Roger Kops said.
Pioniers plans to add another foreign pitcher to its roster.
Pioniers already has American lefthander Chris Pfau in its pitching-staff.
After last season, the team lost four pitchers: righthanded starter Elton Koeiman (Twins), righthanded starter/reliever Reggie Bomberg (Kinheim), righthanded reliever Dennis Buring (lower level within the club) and righthanded closer Bayron Cornelisse (Neptunus).
Last month, it was announced that Venezuelan lefthander (with a Spanish passport) Ricardo Hernández Sanchez will play for Rimini in the Italian Baseball League this year.
Jonah Van Bemmelen played four seasons (2012-2015) for the Knights, the team of Arcadia University, where he was mainly used as a reliever.
He started only one of the 33 games he pitched for the Knights, which plays in the Middle Atlantic Conference (NCAA Division 3).
He didn't pitch in that many innings, but was most times effectively for the team.
In 2012, he threw in eight games, then threw in 17 games in 2013.
In that season, he was 1-3 with three saves and threw in 26 2/3 inning.
In the 2014 season, the righthander appeared in only seven games, throwing 9 2/3 inning.
He then closed his career at Arcadia in 2015, striking out 15 batters in 12 2/3 inning in 14 games, earning one save.
Van Bemmelen also has been the team-captain and was named to the MAC Academic Honour Roll three times.
In 2014, Van Bemmelen played in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, which is a collegiate summer league in the State of New York.
In that year, he pitched for Geneva Twins and was 1-1 with an 1.09 ERA and struckout 24 batters in 24 2/3 inning.
