Kinheim vs. L&D Amsterdam Pirates
After being retired in order in the first inning, Amsterdam struck with three runs in the second inning off of Kinheim-starter David Bergman.
The veteran righthander would give up 12 hits and eight runs in the four innings he pitched.
In the second inning, Danny Rombley and Kenny Berkenbosch singled with one out.
Patrick Bok then also singled to bring in the first run, then two runs were added when Max Clarijs followed with a triple.
Next batter Jesse Aussems lined into a double play, but Amsterdam had taken a 3-0 lead.
Kinheim got one run back in the bottom of the second inning off of Dennis Burgersdijk.
With two outs, Oliver van der Wijst Severino tripled, then scored on a single by Dexter de Weert.
But Amsterdam Pirates took more distance by scoring three runs again in the third at bat.
Nick Urbanus led off with a double, then Michael Duursma singled.
Gilmer Lampe followed with a runscoring single, then the bases got loaded when Remco Draijer reached on a bunt-single.
Danny Rombley then accounted for the fifth consecutive basehit and his single brought in another run.
A sacrifice fly by Kenny Berkenbosch lifted the lead to 6-1.
Two more runs were added in the fourth.
With one out, Jesse Aussems singled and hereafter, Nick Urbanus homered to make it 8-1.
In the top of the fifth inning, Nick Veltkamp took over for David Bergman.
The lefthander retired the side, but in this at bat, Kinheim lost its third baseman Oliver van der Wijst Severino.
With one out, Kenny Berkenbosch grounded the ball to the leftside of the infield towards short.
Van der Wijst eliminated Berkenbosch, but while throwing the ball, he felt some pain in his arm and was replaced out of precaution.
After scoring its first run in the second inning, Kinheim left a runner in the third and was retired in the fourth at bat.
Trailing 8-1, Kinheim scored twice in the bottom of the fifth.
With one out, Jochem Koedijk doubled and Jasper Keijzer singled.
The two moved on a wild pitch, then the bases got loaded when Julio Hernandez walked.
A sacrifice fly by Kevin Moesquit and an error on a grounder by Dudley Leonora then led to the two runs.
The bases got loaded again when Victor Draijer was hit by a pitch, but three runners were left behind when a grounder followed by Thomas Bos, who had replaced Oliver van der Wijst Severino in the top half of the at bat.
In the top of the sixth, Max Clarijs and Jesse Aussems walked, then Tom Stuifbergen took over the pitching for Kinheim.
He gave up a single to Nick Urbanus, which loaded the bases, then a sacrifice fly by Michael Duursma brought in Amsterdam's ninth run.
Kinheim again scored twice in the bottom of the sixth inning off of new pitcher Pim Walsma.
He gave up a lead-off single to Sander Paap, then got the bases loaded with one out when Jochem Koedijk walked and Jasper Keijzer was hit by a pitch.
Hereafter, a wild pitch and a grounder by Julio Hernandez accounted for the runs.
