Twins ends losing streak with small win in Haarlem
Nederlands
HAARLEM (Neth.) -
De Glaskoning Twins shutout DSS 2-0 on Thursday-evening (June 23) in a soggy and slowpaced game to end a 7-game losing streak.
The game was one of two that were played tonight, as two other games were cancelled due to heavy rain early in the day and unplayable fields.
These games will be made up up Friday-evening.
While there were only two runs and nine basehits in the game, it took almost three hours to complete it.
Twins opened the score in the fourth inning on a double by Anthony Vrolijk, then added a run in the seventh on a single by Jeffrey Arends.
DSS got into scoring position only twice in the first seven innings.
In the eighth, the Haarlem-squad got the bases loaded, but stranded three runners.
Winning pitcher Brendan Schoemaker threw seven-plus fine innings, then was relieved when he got the bases loaded in the eighth.
