Kinheim vs. Curaçao Neptunus
On a cold afternoon in Haarlem with a wind chill of only 0,8 degrees Celsius (33,4 Fahrenheit), Kinheim was limited to only three basehits off of three pitchers.
Neptunus didn't hit much more hits, collecting five, but held Kinheim scoreless and won 3-0.
Kinheim reached second base only twice in the game.
Belgian righthander Kenny Van Den Branden started for Neptunus and saw Kinheim get into scoring position in the bottom of the first inning after the Rotterdam-squad had been retired in order by David Bergman.
Jasper Keijzer led off with a single, then Bryan Engelhardt walked with two outs, but then was forced out to end the inning.
After Neptunus had been retired again in the second inning, it got its first baserunner with one out in the third when Urving Kemp doubled.
But he would strand, as a strikeout and groundout followed.
Neptunus then opened the score in the fourth inning.
Benjamin Dille led off with a single, then an error followed on a force play-grounder by Raily Legito, which led to runners on first and third base.
Next batter Gianison Boekhoudt grounded into a double play, but that enabled Dille to score the first run.
