 Amsterdam Pirates supports rookie with victory vs. UVV

 VLEUTEN (Neth.) -
L&D Amsterdam Pirates registered a convincing 6-1 victory on Friday-evening (June 24) against Pickles UVV in a make-up game.
The game was cancelled on Thursday, due to heavy thunderstorms earlier in the day.
With tonight's loss, UVV now has lost 13 games in a row.
Amsterdam supported rookie starting pitcher Jimmy Osinga with enough basehits and with four runs to end the game with a victory.
For Osinga, who turned 19 earlier this month, this was his first big league-start and he earned his first win.
Last weekend, he had made his debut at the highest level, pitching one inning in relief.
Remco Draijer contributed with three basehits for the Amsterdam-squad and scored three runs.
Gilmer Lampe returned to the line-up of Pirates, after his 10-game suspension was reduced to seven after his appeal was heard earlier this week.
Lampe was suspended for his part in the bench-clearing brawl that ended the game against Curaçao Neptunus on May 27.
Leading 4-1, Amsterdam added two insurance runs in the top of the eighth inning.
