Draci Brno first to reach final in Federations Cup-tournament
Nederlands
BRNO (Czech Rep.) -
As expected, Draci Brno has reached the final of the Federations Cup-tournament.
Brno, which hosts the event on its home-site, won 15-0 in five innings on Friday (June 24) against Buffaloes Blagoevgrad (Bulgaria) to remain unbeaten and officially clinch a spot in the final.
Day 4 began win a 6-5 victory in ten innings for Deurne Spartans (Belgium) against Apollo Bratislava (Slovakia).
With the win, the Belgian team remains a strong contender to become the second finalist.
However, the Belgians will close the preliminary round on Saturday against Sölvesborg Firehawks from Sweden.
The Swedish squad today won 12-2 in seven innings against Moskvich (Russia).
That means that the Deurne vs. Sölvesborg game will be a crucial one.
When Deurne wins, it becomes the second finalist.
When Sölvesborg wins, it will reach the final, unless Bratislava wins its game against Blagoevgrad.
In that case, the Belgians, Swedes and Slovaks will be tied.
The score of the Deurne vs. Sölvesborg game then almost surely will be decisive in that situation.
